ATV rider recalls passing very close to a Bigfoot at dusk in Eight Mile Canyon near Leadore
In July 2007 the witness and a companion were riding ATVs back toward camp in the evening when the witness noticed a low shape beside the trail. As he passed, the shape stood to about eight feet, faced away then looked over its shoulder and extended an arm toward him, causing him to duck and accelerate away. He also reported a strong elk-like odor. The companion ahead did not see the figure but noticed the witness was shaken afterward.

Before dawn during deer gun season, three hunters were spread along a wooded creek bottom. The youngest hunter, waiting alone in the dark, reported a very large dark fur-covered biped running past and then walking away to the northwest. The two adults farther east did not see it but heard movement and a loud cracking sound in the trees.

A young child who had gone about fifty yards from the house to pick thimbleberries claimed a large white-furred creature rose up from behind the bushes within a few feet. The child observed broad shoulders, long arms at its sides, and a human-like head shape for a few seconds before running back to the house in terror. When the others went back with him, nothing was visible but a strong rotten smell lingered and very large human-like footprints were found in soft ground near a spring. Adults dismissed the account, but the brother maintained the claim years later.

As a high-school student waiting for the morning school bus at the top of a hill, the witness looked down a gravel road toward a lit area near a creek crossing. She claims a large unrecognized animal crossed the two-car-wide road in a single step. She was frightened, returned to the house and turned on the lights, and told no one at the time.
