The witness and a companion were riding bicycles east on a rail-trail when they noticed a large dark figure about 150 yards ahead walking toward them on the trail. The figure noticed them about the same time, left the trail, and walked quickly into the woods. They reported no sound or odor, and a later check for prints found nothing because of heavy leaves.

In the pre-dawn hours, two relatives driving home saw a small dark upright figure cross the road in front of their car from right to left. The figure was covered in dark hair that shone in the headlights and moved quickly and smoothly, leading the driver to slow to avoid hitting it. Both occupants confirmed they saw the same thing, and the driver declined to stop and was unsettled afterward.

The witness ran down the lane while loud crashing noises from the woods kept pace, then continued to a relative's house and collapsed inside without reporting what happened at the time.

The witness, then a teenager, took a shortcut through woods to return a neighbor's loose German shepherd. In a clearing by a fenced garbage pile, the witness saw a black hairy gorilla-like figure crouched at the fence, reaching through with a hand-like arm to move objects. The dog whined and blocked the witness, and after watching for several seconds the witness left and returned the dog by the road.
