Deputy sheriff has vehicle near miss with nine foot tall biped
A deputy sheriff driving north on U.S. 95 well after dark en route to an accident scene saw a large hairy biped cross the road in front of his car. The animal came up one embankment, crossed in a few seconds, went up the steep opposite bank and disappeared into brush. The deputy described dark fur, upright walking, broad build, and eyes reflecting headlights.

Late at night in 1982, a driver and a passenger were traveling on a wooded highway when the driver braked suddenly. The driver said a tall, dark, hairy biped was striding across the road in the headlights about 75 feet away and continued on. The passenger had been asleep and did not see it, being awakened by the braking and shout.

The witness and a companion were driving home late at night when an animal stepped over a roadside fence and crossed the road in front of them. The animal stopped in an open field and looked back while the witness stopped the car and both occupants watched it from about 150 feet away for an extended time. They noted its tall height, hair covering, and red eyes before the witness drove away.
