Partial sighting in Nebraska (1976)
A girl camper ran to the boys' side overnight saying she saw an ugly black face peering in the bathroom window. The children first thought it was a joke but she appeared terrified. The next day the group found large muddy handprints with an oddly offset thumb on the outside wall under a high small window.
Hiker encounters large footprints
In the early spring of 1976 the witness was hiking uphill from a cabin when they found very large flat-footed tracks in soft dirt in a Ponderosa Pine forest. The tracks were fairly deep and appeared to come up the hillside from the cabin area. The witness did not see the track-maker and later read library publications about prior regional sightings.

In the late 1970s in December, the witness's friend found a short line of very large barefoot humanlike tracks in mud along a strip-mine pond while running traps. While heading back to their truck at dusk during an elk hunt, the witness and a companion felt watched and heard a loud scream lasting several minutes from behind trees, along with banging and branch breaking. They hid behind boulders with rifles but nothing emerged. They then left for the truck about a half mile away.

Late on a Friday night the residents called police to report someone sneaking near their home. The responding officer searched the grounds and found a human-looking left-foot track near the front porch, described as about 14 inches long. A resident later made a cast of the print, which the investigator photographed and which was later measured at about 16 3/4 inches long.
Growl near Mooreland, Indiana (1975)
The witness and three companions were coon hunting at night with three hounds along a logging road beside a swamp. The dogs yelped in fear and ran past the group back toward the truck. The group heard a deep growl and loud limb breaking and wood knocking moving toward them from the swamp, then left the woods and found the dogs shaking in their boxes on the truck.

The witness was traveling with family members when their vehicle pulled over and everyone got out. The group noticed many large footprints in sand along a small river leading uphill toward the forest. They then heard a noise from the ridge across the river and briefly saw a large creature moving bipedally over the ridge out of sight, after which they got back in the vehicle and left.

The witness and a companion were backpacking in a remote wilderness and stopped at a trail seep to collect water. In the mud they found a single very large footprint that was filling with seep water. They felt it was not a bear or human track, camped nearby uneasily overnight without hearing anything unusual, and left at first light.

Under bright moonlight they watched a large humanlike figure trot south down the beach, and a companion called to it without effect. Several children riding bikes on a snow-covered dirt road reported seeing footprints and walked barefoot in the snow, getting their feet cold and wet. Their mother went to look and reported finding large human-like tracks in deep snow, which were photographed. A later examination documented a trackway of about two dozen large prints leading from a hill to the road.

The witness rode a motorcycle up a canyon road until blocked by a snow bank, then parked to explore near an old cabin and stream. While walking along the stream bank the witness found a single large bare human-like footprint larger than his own, with splayed toes and an oddly angled little toe. The witness noted the next step would have entered the freezing stream and dense brush, noted an absence of natural sounds, and then left after resting.

The witness and a relative were playing in a vacant lot across a narrow canal from a wooded area with a dirt-bike trail. They heard grunting and movement in bushes beside a large tree and saw a large black-brown human-like figure near the tree. The figure reportedly snapped a thick branch at its base with ease, then ran into the woods knocking down small trees.

The witness found a single large bare footprint with five toes in silty sand and examined it for some time. No other prints or nearby camping spots were noted, and the witness felt familiar bear prints could not explain it.

The witness was hunting with five relatives and family friends in a remote part of the Everglades in the fall. About an hour into the evening hunt, the group found large footprints in mud at a dried water hole near a tree line, with disturbed brush beyond. The group left the area soon after, ending the trip. The witness later interpreted the tracks as those of a skunk ape.

The witness woke upstairs at night after a neighbor's dog barked and looked out a window with siblings at a garden below. They described a large human-like entity covered in dark hair squatting and eating vegetables, which looked up with glowing eyes but showed no fear. After a relative fired a gun into the air, the entity stood, ran bipedally toward nearby woods and a river, and large human-like footprints were found in the garden the next morning.

The guest's mother arrived at his grandmother's farm at night and was hurried inside after being told a tall hairy creature was nearby. Family members then used a spotlight to show her a figure stepping out of the light along the tree line. Over the following years the family reported repeated nighttime visits marked by forest silence, strong odor, screams and chatter, plus damage to orchard trees and garden crops.

In 1975 the witness's family living near Spottsville, Kentucky experienced repeated activity over many months. She described hearing loud limb breaks and an elephant-like scream, smelling a dead-like odor, finding footprints, and losing livestock and pets with entrails removed. She twice saw an 8-foot hairy figure on the property, and four armed relatives fired from the roof as the figure ran past a barn and jumped a fence unaffected.

When the guest grew up in rural northeast Louisiana, his uncle and cousins on an Arkansas cabin camping trip saw what looked like a person peeking in a window. Two of them grabbed guns, chased it, and failed to catch it. They concluded it was Bigfoot because of its speed and its breaking of limbs and logs no human could break.

A couple days later in the same Idaho hunt, the group drove before dawn in snow and watched a dark stump-like shape widen and slide slowly across the road out of headlight range. Later that day they found giant five-toed tracks circling their parked vehicle, and the passenger who checked the roadside with a flashlight claimed it was a hooded hunter on horseback.

A family home in Kentucky was terrorized in 1975 by tall hairy creatures over an extended period. Witnesses described seeing a figure watching from a gully, hearing limbs breaking, finding livestock killed, and seeing a figure under a light and exiting a barn. Fear became so intense the father prepared to burn the house with the family inside rather than risk an attack.
