Late at night four friends walking past a graveyard noticed a very large object resting on a branch in a large tree. After they shone a flashlight at it, the object dropped about twenty feet and ran quickly toward woods behind the graveyard. The witness returned at sunrise and found very large impressions in the grass with a stride neither he nor a taller companion could match, leading him to estimate the creature at seven to nine feet tall.
Wood knock (1999)
The guest and four friends were climbing a forested mountainside on an old logging road to find a rumored abandoned cabin. They heard branches breaking and being struck against trees, vegetation thrashing, and strange vocalizations. They shouted threats thinking it might be people, but became convinced it was neither people nor normal animals. He later returned alone and with others but the activity never repeated.
Blocking of walking trail
The witness regularly walked a wooded trail near office buildings during lunch. One afternoon in May 1999 the witness found a young tree freshly snapped off high up and laid across the trail to block it, with no sign of sawing, wind, or vehicle contact. The witness showed the scene to a coworker the next day and cleared the trail, and later wondered whether the damage could be related to Bigfoot. No creature was seen and no footprints or hair were checked.

The witness then took cover behind a dirt mound and watched the area for about an hour without seeing anything leave to the east, west, or south.

During modern-gun deer season the witness was walking on a road between two fields when he noticed footprint-like impressions in the road and at the field edge. He returned the next morning to photograph one impression with a shotgun and boot for scale. He described it as about boot-length, wider than a bare foot, with three toes, and interpreted several impressions as a running stride toward a nearby thicket.

His nested cook pots were then heard clanging and later found unnested and spread out. After finding a long hair on his backpack Velcro he broke camp and drove to Red Bluff.

Three college roommates hiked to the Thompson River to fish and camp overnight. After dark they repeatedly heard a childlike crying sound from a nearby ridge, had small river stones tossed into camp, and later heard loud knocks alternating with the cries. At daylight they hiked out, noticing concentrated scat and disturbed ground near oak trees, and concluded the activity was not from a person.

After dark from a tree stand he heard repeated wood-on-wood strikes, a tree falling without cracking, footsteps uphill out of sight, and prolonged human-like hooting from multiple directions, followed by hours of silence. He left on foot around 3 a.m. without further incident.

The witness noticed a disturbed sand bar suggesting something had forded the creek, then found a single large footprint in wet sand between rocks. A family reports seeing an unidentified tall biped around their rural home over four years, usually at night. The creature is described as 7 to 9 feet tall, walking upright with a slight hunch and running too fast to follow. Footprints, hair, possible saliva, blood stains, and snapped small trees were also found on the property. Up to nine family members in three houses have seen it when arriving, leaving, or moving between houses.

Two bear hunters on foot found three sets of large footprints traveling together in a muddy flat back in the woods. The prints were in a low area filled with rain water and were judged to be fairly recent because the edges lacked degradation. A single plaster cast of the largest print was made within 24 hours, but the cast was poor due to inexperience.

Three researchers camped in a remote timbered drainage in early August 1998 to study suspected sasquatch activity. Over two afternoons they heard loud primate-like calls and screams around camp, and during two nights they heard conversational vocalizations, rhythmic rock-clicking, and stealthy footfalls that alarmed horses. They also detected red eyeshine and later found a fresh animal bed overlooking the camp. They left early, concluding no conclusive evidence was obtained but the area warranted further investigation.

While crossing a breached beaver dam they found three sets of very fresh, large tracks in soft mud with long strides that left the mud and climbed a steep rocky hill. The witness hiked into a wilderness lake to fish from the shore. While fishing, the witness noticed a very foul odor, then heard sounds like something striking a tree, followed by a high-pitched howling/scream-like sound and more tree-striking sounds. Feeling watched and unnerved, the witness left the area, and on the trail out noticed fresh broken branches on a pine tree.
Huge human-like footprints discovered
The witness and a companion hiked into a remote area beside Cedar Lake to collect ancient amber. While wading along the flooded shoreline the day after hiking in, they found fresh, huge human-like footprints in a sandy area that led west into the swamp. The prints were described as 14-15 inches long, narrow for their length, with a running stride and deep depressions. They recorded the prints and surrounding swamp with a video camera.
