Tracks found near a lake by witnesses
The witness reports finding tracks in soft soil at the edge of a freshwater lake in early October 1999, first a single set and then about two weeks later three sets of different sizes. The tracks were where large-leafed underwater plants were growing, and the plants appeared stripped from the water where the tracks were found. The witness photographed and videotaped the tracks and area, but weather destroyed the tracks before a cast could be made, and later visits in November and December found no further sign.

Four people in a house heard very loud deep shrieks from beyond the backyard tree line at night. Two of them went onto the patio with a rifle and flashlight; when the light was pointed at the treeline the shrieks stopped and something was heard moving away through the woods while grunting deeply. The next day the witness followed a wide trail of fresh tree damage through the woods for about two hours.
Tracks found in West Branch State Park
While scouting for deer season, the witness found fresh barefoot-like tracks going through deep mud, briars and a mud swamp instead of the dry trail. The tracks were narrow, deep, long-toed with an apparent left-foot injury, and had a long stride. The witness followed the trackway from the lake inlet across the swamp for about 700 yards until it was lost on dry ground in the forest.

The witness and a coworker were flown by helicopter to an alpine area above a remote wildfire to search for water for pumps. In a small snow patch they found a single large footprint with clear toes and no other prints around it. The witness felt the remote location ruled out other people being there.

Around 2:30 a.m. the witness woke to camp disturbance and a deer, then sensed a large presence watching the tent from nearby pines, hearing breathing and later branches moving. The witness was hiking with family on a trail near their campsite at midday. He noticed a stump-like shape in a sunlit area that suddenly stood and ran away bipedally for about 100 yards. His family did not see it. He reported it to a park worker and later returned to find large tracks and disturbed wood.

The witness was on an early spring morning walk along a two-track through swampy woods when she heard movement and saw a large white figure moving quickly away about 50 yards away through dense undergrowth. She followed it visually for some distance and noted its rapid movement and swinging arms. The next day she returned to the same area and found very large footprints with only three toes visible and widely spaced, which she interpreted as confirming the figure was not a human.
Man and wife find large tracks with large stride east of Greenwater
The witness and his wife were driving in the Greenwater area so the witness could hike up a snowy dirt road to look for sunglasses lost the previous winter. While hiking he found a line of unusually deep footprints with a long uphill stride. At the top where snow had melted, the last print was a clear impression in frozen mud showing five toes, arch and heel. He went back downhill to bring his wife to view the tracks.

Both went outside and inspected three very large five-toed prints that appeared isolated without a trail leading in or out. Late at night four friends walking past a graveyard noticed a very large object resting on a branch in a large tree. After they shone a flashlight at it, the object dropped about twenty feet and ran quickly toward woods behind the graveyard. The witness returned at sunrise and found very large impressions in the grass with a stride neither he nor a taller companion could match, leading him to estimate the creature at seven to nine feet tall.

The guest and four friends were climbing a forested mountainside on an old logging road to find a rumored abandoned cabin. They heard branches breaking and being struck against trees, vegetation thrashing, and strange vocalizations. They shouted threats thinking it might be people, but became convinced it was neither people nor normal animals. He later returned alone and with others but the activity never repeated.

The witness regularly walked a wooded trail near office buildings during lunch. One afternoon in May 1999 the witness found a young tree freshly snapped off high up and laid across the trail to block it, with no sign of sawing, wind, or vehicle contact. The witness showed the scene to a coworker the next day and cleared the trail, and later wondered whether the damage could be related to Bigfoot. No creature was seen and no footprints or hair were checked.

During modern-gun deer season the witness was walking on a road between two fields when he noticed footprint-like impressions in the road and at the field edge. He returned the next morning to photograph one impression with a shotgun and boot for scale. His nested cook pots were then heard clanging and later found unnested and spread out. After finding a long hair on his backpack Velcro he broke camp and drove to Red Bluff.
