Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

Two companions walking along a wooded driveway in the afternoon heard unidentified tapping sounds and entered the woods to investigate. They found freshly matted grass and a human-like bare footprint with five toes in dried mud. Shortly after, the companion shouted to run as loud timber-breaking crashes and movement occurred in dense undergrowth behind him. The reporter did not see the source, but the companion reportedly saw something about seven feet tall, after which both fled to the driveway.

In 1977 two companions hunting frogs at a remote pond heard a roar and saw trees moving. One saw a large brown hairy form partly hidden behind a cedar tree and swaying. Both fled on foot while hearing heavy thuds, and one saw a large rock bouncing nearby. A few days later they returned and found a cleared limb bed and a limb torn from a mesquite tree, but no footprints due to rocky ground.

While walking around the pond, the witness heard cracking from the opposite treeline and briefly saw a large dark shaggy form break a branch and disappear into the forest. The lower legs were hidden by a mound, but the witness estimated the height at about seven feet and then left for the house.

The witness saw a small hairy juvenile peeking from behind what proved to be the leg of a very large female standing motionless in a clearing. After he pointed at her she roared, the group fled while hearing screams, howls and chatter around them, and the next morning a large log they played on was found broken.

They smelled something like something dead, heard heavy thudding footsteps and grunts, and saw a very tall figure swaying behind a tree about thirty yards away, with limb-breaking sounds to the side. The group noticed many large footprints in sand along a small river leading uphill toward the forest. They then heard a noise from the ridge across the river and briefly saw a large creature moving bipedally over the ridge out of sight, after which they got back in the vehicle and left.

A group staying in a high-elevation pine forest reported repeated large footprints and strange nighttime sounds over an unspecified period. During one late-night episode, one person looking out from a shelter saw a large shape briefly enter moonlight and then leave. While throwing a football alone at night, the witness noticed a small head with pointed ears peeking from behind tall hedge bushes and threw the ball toward it after it repeatedly ducked. Later that same night while sleeping near a low bedroom window, a much larger hairy face appeared at the glass, made eye contact, shifted its eyes, wrinkled its brow and opened a wide mouth showing pointed teeth. The witness fled to a parent's room while heavy pacing was felt and heard around the house, then police were called but found nothing. The next morning the witness found large prints around windows and garden, recalled repeated early-morning howls, a growl with a branch breaking, grunting in the basement and a violently shaking backyard tree.
