The witness and a bandmate visited a woman's property after seeing her on television and camped overnight. They saw a tall black figure at the driveway and later at the firelight edge, had hickory nuts thrown uphill at them, heard limb breaking, and at about 5 a.m. something pressed down on their tent breaking a pole before running off. Similar activity recurred the next night.

Two people were sitting around a campfire in early-morning darkness when they heard heavy footsteps approaching through the woods. A creature passed through the campsite toward the river, then ran back and into the woods behind the camp, seen only as a fire-lit silhouette. After hunting from stands, they returned and found large five-toed footprints in sand that they felt were too large to be human.

The witness was family camping in the Big Cypress area when she noticed a tall black shape in the woods that vanished minutes later. Around 4 a.m. she awoke to a distant wailing sound with heavy breathing that approached the campsite, passed by the tents and left down a trail, waking several companions who also heard it. In the morning the group followed the direction of travel and found large wide footprints with a four-toe appearance in a sandy trail that had not been there the day before.

Late at night the witness's family was at home when a dog outside sounded distressed. A relative went out, saw a large shadow by the shed, retrieved a firearm, then saw something flee down the driveway and fired, after which a loud growl-howl was heard followed by silence. The next morning the family found unfamiliar footprints and believed the visitor had leapt across a nearby canal.

The witness set out alone on a multi-day hike through swamp trail and camped overnight in a hammock. During the night the camp was surrounded by unseen figures making vocalizations, knocks and walking sounds, and a food bag was knocked down. The next day the witness found large tracks, then encountered large dark hairy figures on and near the trail, one of which followed closely. The witness fled in panic to a highway rest stop and required medical care, reporting lasting distress and nightmares.

The witness was out at night with a friend and the friend's father when their dogs ran back terrified and would not leave the dog box. While driving out they saw high wide eyeshine and an outline that leapt from a tree. A crouched hairy shape then rose screaming and tore at trees, and the witness fired his shotgun before all three fled in the truck and never returned.
