The witness was spending the weekend at a friend's house when the group heard loud high- and low-pitched screaming on a summer Saturday night. Three of them walked toward a field near a river with a flashlight and saw red eyes in the brush while hearing limbs breaking, then ran back to the house. Screaming reportedly continued for hours, and the next midday they found a snapped vine, bark torn high on a tree, disturbed ground, and a partial large heel print.

After waking to a noise and standing up, the witness heard screaming, growling/grunting and trees snapping as something moved away quickly. The witness followed snapped trees to the edge of the hardwoods but found no trail in leaf litter, then returned toward the vehicle.
