Three young men walked a trail at night in a conservation area to look for a pond. Rocks were thrown toward two of them from the woods, strange pacing, a low growl, and rhythmic booming sounds followed them. They found fresh green trees snapped and laid across the trail blocking the path, then were hurried out by more rock throws and close movement before the woods went quiet and normal night sounds returned near the car.
Tree break in Missouri (2019)
A couple camping alone heard a tree fall, paired tree knocks, grunts, and a growl during the day and evening. After midnight, heavy human-like footsteps circled their tent and campfire, left, returned, then moved off as vehicle lights were flashed. They left the tent for their vehicle and learned the landowner's trail camera captured an orb light that same night.

The witness and a companion were asleep at home when they were awakened around midnight by a thump on a storage box beneath the bedroom window and sensations described as footsteps. The next afternoon they found two lines of large human-like barefoot prints in fresh snow leading toward and past the window, merging into one line before crossing the road toward a treeline. The larger prints were measured at 13 to 14 inches long with strides over five feet, while smaller prints were interpreted as a juvenile. Photos and measurements were taken before melt and wind degraded the tracks.

The witness was lying in bed in an off-grid camper when surrounding animal sounds went silent. Over about an hour the witness heard a single knock, shed creaking as if pushed, rustling and footsteps on gravel, a possible growl and chewing, and a single whoop with no reply. The witness backpacked solo to a remote campsite and spent the night in a hammock. Throughout the night he heard knocks, screams, howls, voices, footsteps, rocks and twigs landing nearby, and felt his tarp, hammock lines and gear being touched. He also noted a bent-tree structure near camp the prior evening and disturbed logs and tree piles in the morning, but reported seeing no creature.

Two boys were gigging for fish in a shallow river at night when they heard splashing from objects thrown into the water. They shone flashlights across the river and saw an upright human-like creature bring down a dead tree into the river and move in the water. The boys fled to their cabin, and a tree not present the day before was seen in the river the next morning.

An older woman living alone reported repeated nighttime disturbances around her yard, barn and livestock. A responding officer documented a ripped chicken coop, dents on the barn, a partial handprint, and heard shuffling in the tree line. After the case file, photos and dispatch recordings disappeared and officials told him to drop the case, he was forced to resign.

The witness was camping alone in a tall tent when something large approached at night. A tall shadow with broad shoulders was cast on the tent by an outside lantern. The visitor opened food containers, ate bread, growled, overturned a cooler and carried off meat before leaving toward the river where vocalizations were heard. Large footprints and teeth marks were found the following morning.

Two companions walking a hillside trail at night heard a loud snap and saw two large bipedal figures silhouetted against city lights. After one companion shouted, a second shorter figure stood up beside the taller slumped figure, and both fled on two legs crashing through small trees. The witnesses estimated the taller figure at 7.5 to 8 feet tall, hid at the fire tower overnight, and noted broken limbs and a sweet unpleasant odor in the area the next morning.

While camping with family and friends, the witness's young son ran from a dirt road saying he saw a tall hair-covered man. Later that evening the group heard heavy walking and loud limb-snapping in the adjacent woods and noticed a dead-like smell. The next day they found a bulldozed trail with broken limbs and saplings where the sounds had come from.
Footsteps near St Clair, Missouri (1970)
The guest's sister said that in the 1970s she repeatedly heard something bipedal walking behind her house at night. The next morning her son found long reddish-brown hair on a barbed-wire fence where the sounds had been. In later years she has also reported howl-like vocalizations and heavy breathing from the woods and once made a phone recording.

At night rocks repeatedly struck the tent, table, chairs and vehicle from a ridge above. They filmed a rock box containing grape stems, numerous large fresh tree breaks all pointing the same compass direction, and a large intertwined structure at the top. They felt followed, heard large movement above them, human-like mumbling, footsteps that mimicked one officer, and a squirrel that abruptly went silent.
