Reported activity includes footprints, wood knocks, odors, vocalizations, trail and structure formation, and direct sightings with food exchange and close interactions. An investigator visited the densely brushed property, observed extensive trails and shelter-like spots, and interviewed the household about four to five individuals of different sizes.

While setting out food one evening after a tree fell, the guest heard something large approach fast and saw two red eyes facing him. He recorded about five minutes as it looked at him and toward loud brush-tearing nearby, its eyes shifting color in the light. It later peeked from behind a tree about ten feet away before withdrawing. Next morning he found a track and a freshly split tree where it stood.
