While hunting near a lake in the fall of 1970, the witness reported a strong musky odor, unusual large and small scat, rhythmic thumping with ground vibration, and a large dead tree falling nearby while alone. The witness, working as a night security guard at a facility, stepped onto a rear deck for a patrol around 3 a.m. and heard an extremely loud female-sounding scream from the wooded hillside about 100 feet away. After sunrise he inspected the nearby trail and found large footprints that he measured. He later found a similar scream online and said it matched what he heard.
