The witness, then in eighth grade, was delivering papers before dawn during a bitterly cold snowy week. He felt watched, found very large barefoot-like tracks in snow that conformed to a curb, followed them through a park across a creek and fence toward sewage ponds, found the same trail backtracked the next morning, then days later heard an extremely loud scream from nearby bushes that terrified him.

As a paperboy delivering newspapers in Eldridge in early February 1981, the witness found very large human-like footprints in snow crossing the town from northeast to southwest, and found a second set retracing the route in reverse the next morning. Several days later, while delivering Sunday papers with his father driving, the witness tossed a paper against a door and immediately heard a loud scream from beside the house that he attributed to the same creature. The witness never saw the animal itself.

The sounds appeared to circle the house for over an hour and were accompanied by tree cracking and rock-clicking noises. Large footprint found in sandbar
Two people walking with a dog heard something moving through the woods away from them and followed the sound to a creek. On a sandbar in the middle of the creek they found a single large, fresh human-like barefoot print and saw no other prints on the higher far bank. They inferred a very long stride and returned up the road without seeing the source.

While hunting deer in a remote forested mountain area, the witness found a large human-like five-toed footprint frozen in mud beneath a large tree after noticing an unclear print nearby. The clear print was described as longer and wider than the witness's size 10 boot, approximately three inches larger. The discovery occurred in daylight with old snow and frozen ground.

The witness heard it snap a large fallen tree in two, suggesting great weight. The witness reached the road area, slept in the truck overnight, and heard no additional screams or strange noises.

When the witness was 11, a very tall hair-covered creature stood outside the house window for a few minutes late at night before walking around the side of the house. The next day the witness and a sibling found large footprints around the house and estimated the creature's height from the window measurement. While living on a rural property one winter, the witness with his brother and a friend found a bobcat torn in half with no chew marks. Days later the witness and his brother found huge human-like footprints in snow, one with a deformed big toe, spaced about six feet apart and sinking deep. The tracks stepped over a fence and went straight up a steep hillside where the boys could barely climb.

The witness and his friend camped and fished over a weekend at a remote creek below a ridge road. They experienced pebbles and rocks thrown, pacing, huffing, wood knocks, a disturbed fire pit and scattered poles. A large creature then came down the ridge into the creek, growled at them from about 20 yards, and left. A DNR officer later found prints, cast them, and called them bear tracks.

While fishing about forty yards apart on a riverbank, the witness and a relative felt watched and noticed movement in brush at the base of a cliff. The pair fled down a trail toward camp, and the witness looked back to see a large hair-covered arm and hand reaching out of the brush right behind him before it disappeared. The next day they returned and found indistinct tracks in soft dirt at the bottom of the cliff face.

Near Christmas 1980 the witness was riding a snowmobile with a relative on a forest trail at night when they got stuck. Both smelled a strong rotten-meat odor and then the witness saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about six feet tall run across the trail into the bush. The witness found a large bare footprint where it crossed and bipedal steps through deep powder snow. A parent who arrived later saw the remaining marks and told the witness the figure was a sasquatch.

While hunting deer alone in a frozen swamp area, the witness found large bare human-like footprints in light snow on an isolated patch of high ground and followed them briefly before returning to camp. Later the same day the witness brought a hunting companion back to the spot and the companion also viewed the tracks. The witness reported seeing a large dark upright shadow-like figure running toward the woods, firing shots, then seeing it again near an old stable and firing again without hitting it. Afterwards the witness found a porch freezer broken into with frozen food scattered, plus white hairs and ground impressions.

A hunting party spent a fall day along a gasline, noticing a putrid odor and a large bare footprint in the morning. In the afternoon two members heard heavy movement circling in brush, and one moved closer and watched part of a tall dark figure step from behind a tree. The observer described a seven-foot-tall heavily built figure with long arms, no visible neck, and reddish eyes. The pair left the area and discussed the sighting on the drive home.

While camped in high alpine forest, the witness went to a snowdrift above camp and found two lines of large footprint-like impressions that had not been there the day before. The lowest prints showed clear toes with a deeply impressed big toe, while higher prints were smeared sideways as if the makers stepped into their own prints ascending the steep slope. The group followed the two trackways, spaced about eight feet apart, to the top of a cliff.

A contractor doing roadwork found about half a dozen large footlike prints near a bulldozer in a remote part of the Ocala National Forest. Law enforcement and forestry personnel made casts of the prints, described as 17 inches long with an arch, five toes and a four-foot stride. Most investigators viewed the prints as a possible hoax but ordered casts because of lingering doubt.

The relative pointed out stacked rock piles and later led the witness to a spot among trees described as a den, containing packed branches, reddish-brown hair tufts, feathers, and a strong decay-like odor. No creature was seen during the visit, and the identification as a den reflected the relative's interpretation.

They found large footprints crossing a sandy road from a clear-cut area into a swamp, noted a long stride, depth, and disturbed tree blossoms, and made plaster casts. After turning out the lights and waiting, the witness saw a tall figure approach the trailer window breathing heavily and froze until it walked away. The next morning the witness found paths of flattened brush leading toward a creek bottom.
