A group staying in a high-elevation pine forest reported repeated large footprints and strange nighttime sounds over an unspecified period. During one late-night episode, one person looking out from a shelter saw a large shape briefly enter moonlight and then leave. A construction crew camped in a Virginia valley in the mid-1930s reported repeated visits by large hairy beings that stole food, left huge footprints, and were seen felling and dragging trees. Early one August morning in 1936 a being reached into a tent and pulled a sleeping worker out by the ankle. Other workers threw hand axes and chased it with rifles and shotguns, firing many shots without killing it, after which sentries were posted day and night.
A surveyor and trader for the Northwest Company comes across tracks of an unusually large, unidentified animal
A surveying party traveling through the Rocky Mountains in winter came upon a large, well-defined track in shallow snow on ice. The track was measured at about fourteen inches long by eight inches wide with four toe marks and was seen extending about a hundred yards from north to south. The party chose not to follow it, with companions unwilling to pursue such a large animal with small guns, and the party leader recorded uncertainty whether it was an unusually large bear or something else.

Two trappers set up camp to trap beaver and found their camp demolished and human-like tracks around it. At night they heard rustling, smelled a foul stench, fired a shot and heard something flee. After separating in the morning, one man found his partner dead with a broken neck and bite marks and fled, blaming a wild man.

Not long after the shooting, a neighboring couple were at home at night when a creature came to their windows and peered in, moving from one window to another. The husband retrieved weapons but found nothing that night. Next morning in daylight with light snow they found tracks all around the house, concentrated where it had stood at windows, and law enforcement declined to respond.

A young child reported a furry smelly cowman at the field edge, followed by an older sibling being followed by heavy footsteps and a father finding long coarse hair on a loosened fence wire. That evening the father and son were chased from the woods, night howls with whoops continued, and a large shape spoke and made faces at the bedroom window. The mother shot at an arm reaching for the child, the family fled, and returning days later found the house interior violently torn apart.

A truck driver reported striking a large hairy biped that went into a ditch. Deputies searched the area without finding the creature but reportedly recovered coarse dark hair from the grill. The investigator has not yet located the report or deputy.

The Michigan guest relays a story heard from his grandmother about his great-grandfather hearing a loud bang on the barn while milking in the dark. In daylight a wide path was found leading from the woods to the barn.
Sasquatch sighting
An elderly hunter and a companion were trapping along a remote trail with a bad reputation. During the night one was awakened by a foul odor and saw a large body in shadow, fired a shot, and later found tracks that seemed neither human nor bear. The next day they found their camp destroyed, and after separating briefly one returned to find the companion dead with a broken neck, then fled on horseback through the night.

A neighbor's son and buddies riding four-wheelers at night under a full moon looked up a hill and saw a very tall hairy beast looking down. They also saw prints and tracks. The mother contacted the witness, who visited with friends for a night investigation and noted activity.

A hunter walking out after dark past a cemetery and dense pines heard a single whistle, whistled back, then heard loud screaming and tree shaking. He fled to the truck and left with his companion. The next day both returned and found pyramid-like piles and a large orange scat pile they photographed and sent to wildlife contacts who did not recognize it.
