The next morning the witness found a yard tree limb twisted and split despite calm weather the prior day. They stayed in the area for two more weeks with no further sightings but reported smelling it several times.

They then noticed a tall shadowy figure just beyond the firelight that turned to face them, showing eye reflection and a strong foul wet-animal odor. After staring for under a minute, the figure ran upslope through brush breaking branches, while the group shouted and then kept the fire up all night.

In May/June 1986, the witness was helping a companion gather firewood on a farm when they found trees stripped of bark with snapped branches. Later, while sitting by a pond, the witness saw a very tall, muscular, reddish-brown upright creature about 100 feet away at an electric fence near tobacco trailers. The creature sniffed the air and grunted while a dog barked, then ran back into the woods. The companion's father arrived with a shotgun and found footprints larger than his boot where the creature had stood.

The witness and two companions hiked a horse trail along a river at night. They heard repeated loud branch breaks that seemed to follow them as they tried to leave. At the base of a bluff area they heard an extremely loud scream that echoed down the river, then ran to a nearby house where they heard the scream again from the woods.

The father took his sons and dogs to swim in park pools when they smelled raw sewage and a pine tree broke into three pieces about 100 yards away. The father saw a figure moving between trees and then a tall creature about 40 feet away walking away across the parking area. They heard repeated loud grunts and later whoop calls and left quickly.

The witness and his wife drove from their lodge to a scenic overlook and noticed a foot trail beside the road. Beside the trail one tree was pushed over with its root ball exposed, a sapling was snapped at a right angle and twisted, and another was bent into an arc with its top stuck in the soil. He photographed the trees and a researcher told him it was a Sasquatch trail marker.

A couple with a dog camped and fished for three days with no one else around and experienced small disappearances of glasses. While fishing near the car with no wind, a large live tree snapped and fell toward the car, landing in another tree above the spouse and dog. The next morning while packing, a bag left on a picnic table near the dog vanished despite no one else being around, and the dog seemed on edge.
