The witness and his young son went squirrel hunting in a public forest reached through a swamp. On the trail back they heard loud bipedal footsteps, heavy raspy breathing, and a powerful growl from very close range but saw nothing despite sparse cover. The unseen presence paced them for about a hundred yards, then growled again and ran toward them through the swamp as they reached the truck and left.
Chatter near Piedmont, Alabama
The homeowner told the guest the phenomena had been present for years at the adjoining family homes. His mother repeatedly called him when she heard talking sounds she could not understand coming from around her garbage. He said he bought a spotlight and at times saw figures running away. He showed photos of very large footprints and bamboo that had been knocked down.

A couple with a dog camped and fished for three days with no one else around and experienced small disappearances of glasses. While fishing near the car with no wind, a large live tree snapped and fell toward the car, landing in another tree above the spouse and dog. The next morning while packing, a bag left on a picnic table near the dog vanished despite no one else being around, and the dog seemed on edge.
Scream
The witness describes ongoing activity at a hunting lease including screams, deer disappearing in mid-November to mid-December, and broken trees. A trackway across a drying pond was found with a long stride and one print was cast. Game cameras captured images and a height estimate was made by measuring at the site. A hunting partner also reported hearing multiple trees snap and feeling compelled to leave, with breaks later found several feet high.

During a July 1996 daytime search near Bluff Creek, the witness crossed to a glade and found a small cedar with its top freshly twisted off several feet up. The break and stripped bark looked moist and recent, and the detached top lay at the base. The witness photographed the tree and carried the top back to camp.

The witness and a friend were sitting on a truck tailgate at night when they heard a disturbance in a crab apple tree. They approached and watched a large pale bipedal animal leave the tree and cross the highway with a swishing foot sound before disappearing. They searched with family that night without result, but the next day found scuffed tracks, broken branches, and fallen apples.
Family encounters upright creature while camping at Silver Falls
The witness's family of four stayed late at a remote Howard's Creek campsite and walked along the loop road on a bright Sunday afternoon. About 60 to 75 feet ahead, a very large dark-brown furry biped emerged from brush on one side, glanced toward them, then crossed quickly into brush on the other side. Frightened, the family returned to camp, where they noted deep scratches high on a tree trunk that they associated with the animal.
