Driving home at night after a Fourth of July visit, the witness first saw a tall figure cross the highway and then pass within 8 to 12 feet as it pushed a branch aside under a vapor light. He braked hard, stalled, and left without approaching. Next day he and his sister-in-law measured the branch at 10 feet at the jaw and followed heel-drag scuffs and heel prints toward dark timber.

At about age 12 the witness found a gigantic bare footprint in a mud slick by an irrigated lettuce field. He tried to mimic it with his own foot and could not. Feeling watched and seeing a shadow move behind trees after branch snaps, he ran home.

The witness, an experienced predator hunter, drove to a familiar oil-field hunting spot and noticed large three-toed tracks. While calling from a mesa in daylight, a large black animal approached on all fours from several hundred yards away. At close range it stood upright, revealing great height and width, a dog-like face with upright ears and hand-like front limbs, then fled rapidly on two legs over a fence.

During the night one was awakened by a foul odor and saw a large body in shadow, fired a shot, and later found tracks that seemed neither human nor bear. The next day they found their camp destroyed, and after separating briefly one returned to find the companion dead with a broken neck, then fled on horseback through the night.

While searching around a large pine he saw only blackness underneath, felt sudden intense fear, ran, became disoriented, then returned to the truck and left.

A large furry silhouette mimicked his steps and approached to about seven feet, showing facial highlights in moonlight. Next day they found a grass impression larger than his size-sixteen shoe.

Three people toured a remote site and heard a wood knock, then heard loud crashing and footsteps rushing toward them. They retreated and a light stopped the approach about ten feet away before it turned and walked off. The next day they found medium and very large tracks by a broken leaning tree.

A deer hunter in a climbing stand watched brush moving about 200 yards away and saw a large dark form squatting and disturbing a tree. When his stand made noise it looked at him, stood on two legs and ran. He found a huge slide track, then heard a wood knock and a whoop from different directions and left, later refusing to return.

While working on flood-control construction, the crew heard loud screaming and banging from the swamp over several days around lunch and shutdown time. One morning they found fuel drums knocked over and dented, blood on equipment and soil, and large tracks around the site. The source of the sounds and disturbance was never identified.

The witness's grandmother, while on the porch, said she saw a thing walk across the pasture and step over a barbed wire fence without stopping. The next day the family found huge human-like but three-toed footprints crossing the fence and ditch to a dirt road, with long strides, including an imprint in soft rock. They also found coarse brown hair on the fence wire that smelled bad.

Coming home from third shift near daylight, the witness glimpsed a figure running through the front yard toward the barn. He found footprints that went around the barn, through the backyard, over a hot tub, around the house and over the propane tank, then disappeared with no continuation.

Later that morning his brother found gigantic footprints by the mailbox and his father tracked 18-inch prints going north to the neighbor's then back south to the barn, suggesting something had watched him.
