Ten people renting a cabin heard branch-breaking noises, bangs, sounds like throwing, and strange howls after midnight, along with a foul outdoor odor. Four of the group then saw a large black bipedal figure in a field in front of the cabin that turned and went back into the woods. The group then heard more walking, howls and breaking branches around the cabin and later found a footprint.

After howling without response, the witness saw a tall hair-covered figure peek from behind a pine tree, make eye contact, then step out and leave in three large strides across the road. The witness stopped to rest while mountain biking and noticed a cluster of large barefoot-like footprints off the trail, which she photographed for scale. She reported hearing distant stomping or thumping sounds and later smelling a foul odor in the area. She did not see what made the prints and first thought the sounds were hogs or wild boar.
