Daylight sighting by hikers at Mayflower Gulch outside Leadville
The witness was sitting on a rock in a high basin while hiking when they saw a large brown biped try to climb a snow cornice, fail, climb down, and walk briskly north out of view, then later reappear walking south above the cornice. About 45 minutes later the witness returned to the spot with another hiker and found handprints and footprints in the snow and photographed them. No further sighting occurred after traversing the difficult slope.
Daylight sighting behind a home in Cuyahoga National Park
The witness reported hearing crashing in a wooded ravine below the house on June 4, 2011 and then seeing a chest-high figure that stared for about a minute before descending out of view. No tracks were recovered because the witness avoided the ravine where the creature was thought to stay.
Tracks near Summit County (2007)
After a two-foot snowstorm around Valentine's Day 2007, the guest found very large footprints with toes and a mid-tarsal ridge on a packed trail. He measured them at about 17 by 7 inches with over 4.5-foot strides and followed them about 0.6 miles to a road. A coworker saw them fresh but the camera failed, and later only two prints remained for photos.
Tracks near Summit County (2000)
While walking by Sagamore Creek near the state hospital in Summit County, the guest found a single very large deep footprint with toes in the mud. He found no other prints and was befuddled. He dismissed it at the time as a tall man.
