Campers describe loud branch snap, howls, and possible track, northeast of Cougar
The witness and a relative camped overnight beside a creek after scouting the area for hunting. Around 10 p.m. a loud nearby branch break woke them, but a flashlight search revealed nothing. An hour later distant howls woke them again, with further responses heard after the witness howled back, and footsteps were later heard near the tent. Next morning a single large deep footprint was found near the tent and photographed.

Four campers spending the night near a creek reported hearing aggressive vocalizations described as a mix of whoops and screams, then seeing the silhouette of a very tall figure with a wide torso about fifteen feet away. They retreated to their truck before setting up camp, and later that night heard a deep whistle, crunching footsteps, pebbles hitting tents, and a branch breaking, along with a foul odor while a small dog growled. By morning a chair was found knocked over, but no tracks were located on the rocky ground.

In April 2013 the guest took his teenage son camping at a just-opened campground off Highway 14 along the Columbia River. During a daytime walk they found an old large track, opened clam shells out of place, a fresh vine-maple twist tucked behind a fir, an 18-inch footprint beneath it, and several pushed or tossed trees. That night in camp they heard branch-breaking, felt the tarps pulled, heard splashing, felt vibration waves, and heard two wood knocks before leaving exhausted in the morning.

During a late-season muzzleloader elk hunt the witness and a companion found a large five-toed barefoot print in semi-frozen ground. That evening while glassing a prairie they heard a loud knock from about 150 yards away. The next morning they found three more large prints of the same size and shape in a sandy wash, spaced about 80 inches apart, with one beyond a log showing no break in stride.

The witness spent the early morning driving back roads around Skookum Meadows to revisit prior sites and scout for future investigation. While traveling, the witness found a buttock-like skid mark with possible handprints and three large bare-foot-like impressions, plus additional large human-shaped tracks near a broken natural bee hive and behind roadside fir trees. The witness photographed the findings and made a cast of one track.
Fishermen encounter upright, slender animal near Lone Butte
Two witnesses driving back from fishing in a national forest rounded a corner and saw a tall black upright figure crossing the road in front of them. It walked quickly uphill and disappeared within a few seconds. They stopped at the spot and found a large footprint, which they later videotaped and cast, and investigators later found additional impressions uphill.
Campers hear vocalizations and find possible prints near Skookum Meadow
Three coworkers camped at Tillicum campsite and hiked toward Skookum Meadow looking for signs. On the first night while awake in the tent they heard coyote-like sounds, a long moan and loud wail, and a guttural growl. The next day on a deer trail off Trail 21 they noticed several vague human-like footprints in firm ground but took no casts or photos. Weeks later the reporter felt the night sounds matched supposed vocalizations heard on a television special.

Three companions hiked several miles into old-growth forest at the base of Mt. St. Helens in midday snow conditions. They reported finding twisted trees, saplings torn down and woven over a creek, and numerous large bare footprints in snow. The largest print was taped at 21 inches and dwarfed the witness's boot, but attempted photos failed due to snow glare.

From a viewpoint, a relative using a spotting scope watched a large dark upright figure move across a distant meadow and later return with a smaller figure first mistaken for a stump. The group searched the area without regaining visual contact. Shortly afterward at a nearby creek, the driver found a large bare footprint in mud and made a plaster cast of it.

Two elk hunters stopped to wash in a creek off a forest road and found a single very large footprint in soft sandy soil. The print was estimated to be much larger and deeper than an adult's print and lacked clear toe marks. No animal was seen, and no other tracks are described.

The witness and relatives stopped at a meadow while fishing and scouting for elk sign. The witness found three large fresh scats of unrecognized plant-based material and a large humanlike footprint beside one scat. The witness camped overnight near a dried creek bed with a relative and a companion when a herd of deer or elk stampeded through camp around midnight and scattered cooking gear. The next morning the witness found a single huge footprint in the creek bed estimated as size 20 and several inches wide. The witness concluded a bigfoot had caused the stampede and became convinced bigfoot exists, though no animal was seen.

A group stopped their pickup on an unfamiliar foggy road to scout ahead on foot. Hearing rocks tumbling and then finding large fresh footprints crossing their recent path, they ran back to the vehicle. While turning the truck around, the writer saw a large dark hairy biped about 50 feet behind them look at them and keep going.

On March 9, 1969, a group visiting a vacation property on Bear Creek found very large footprint-like depressions in deep snow. The tracks appeared to come from the campsite area and angle off toward the creek into trees, with a stride a tall adult could not match. The group left without further investigation, and the witness later notified the county sheriff, whose follow-up found additional tracks and produced casts.

The next day he hiked five miles into wilderness with friends to gather berries and mushrooms and watched a hairy, bearded figure peeking from behind rocks and trees. The group left the area that night feeling watched.
