County workers find possible footprints near Bena
A county road worker grading a gravel road noticed large human-like footprints and stopped to inspect them. The trackway included 16 to 18 prints crossing from a swamp with heel-to-toe progression, long stride, and deep impressions. Agency staff later made molds and reportedly found additional prints in the swamp, and the reporter later visited the site to view the tracks.

When they returned in the morning to collect belongings they heard a loud wavering scream and fled, later noting broken limbs in the area.

The witness and a relative were taking a break from farm work to shoot targets on ice by a creek behind the farm. The witness noticed a large five-toed footprint in the ice, described as twice the size of a normal human foot, with a heel print on the opposite bank and no additional prints. The witness, who described experience with animal tracks from trapping and hunting, thought the prints could have been made by a big foot.

Three people walking and exploring near a harvested soybean field noticed large steps in the grass and then found a very large footprint in dirt that had washed into the grass. They could not follow additional tracks because it was getting dark and the trail led into woods. No cast or photo was made, and nothing else was found later.

They also found remains of a duck that had been plucked and eaten nearby, felt watched, and noted the area was unusually quiet with frequent strange noises. The witness never saw a creature.
