Hikers find possible footprint on a trail in Frozen Head State Park
A couple hiking with their dogs in a state park heard a single knock-like sound and later a distant tree-fall sound. Off a creek-side trail they found a single large bare footprint that was larger than the reporter's shoe and did not replicate under his weight. The dogs acted fearful and the couple ended the hike early.

The witness stepped out of the garage around midnight and noticed a strong musky odor while dogs barked across the road. The next morning the witness found a yard tree limb twisted and split despite calm weather the prior day. Residents in a Campbell County community reported a large ape-like primate on the loose over several weeks in autumn 2003. One resident reported seeing the animal at close range, noting a strong odor, and said it threw a kitten toward them. Other reports described a home intrusion with scattered belongings, stool deposits on property, and many missing or dead cats and kittens. Animal control and the sheriff's department investigated and warned residents not to approach the animal.

The witness and three companions were sitting by a dying campfire late at night when a dog ran back into camp frightened. They then noticed a tall shadowy figure just beyond the firelight that turned to face them, showing eye reflection and a strong foul wet-animal odor. After staring for under a minute, the figure ran upslope through brush breaking branches, while the group shouted and then kept the fire up all night.

The witness and a companion were walking along a road after sundown when the witness heard movement on an elevated fence row. The witness climbed up to look across a cut corn field and saw a tall slender brown shaggy figure walking along a ditch, which stepped into a ditch bank after being shouted at. They ran back to the companion's house, and the witness returned the next day to find large human-like footprints in lime dust.
Couple hears vocalizations on Short Mountain
A witness living on a remote farm reported prolonged screaming and growling from the ridges around the house late at night. The sounds appeared to circle the house for over an hour and were accompanied by tree cracking and rock-clicking noises. The witness went onto the porch briefly then remained inside frightened, without seeing any creature.

The witness was turkey hunting with a companion in wooded river bottomland and walked back toward the parked truck after dark. An unseen source in the woods kept pace about 100 feet away for about ten minutes, including keeping up when the witness ran about 100 yards. The witness heard it snap a large fallen tree in two, suggesting great weight. The witness reached the road area, slept in the truck overnight, and heard no additional screams or strange noises.

No photos were taken and similar tracks were noted the following year. The witness and two companions hiked a horse trail along a river at night. They heard repeated loud branch breaks that seemed to follow them as they tried to leave. At the base of a bluff area they heard an extremely loud scream that echoed down the river, then ran to a nearby house where they heard the scream again from the woods.
