A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.
Possible encounter experienced by a family while fishing at Prather Lake
The witness was fishing with two children and a dog at a remote lake when they heard a loud crash and tree-breaking sounds nearby. Over the next few hours they heard repeated rhythmic knocking, noticed a strong foul odor, and saw the dog become frightened and cling to them. They also noted many small snapped trees and worn foliage around the lake. They left in the afternoon feeling watched without ever seeing an animal.

Three people were camped overnight in a valley when they heard a deep growl followed by a howl. They then heard large branches or trees snapping and being thrown toward camp, followed by sounds of a small animal in distress and then silence. Finally they heard something large running away through the woods, breaking branches and rustling leaves. They saw nothing in the darkness and could not identify the source.

The witness and a relative were camping and had just built a fire when they heard a scream from a ridge. After firing a shotgun into the air, they saw the moonlit outline of an upright human-like figure running toward the water's edge while making an unfamiliar howling sound. They felt they were being followed and then saw a large bipedal figure moving toward the creek. Frightened, they headed back toward the road and noticed a large footprint in fresh mud along the way.

They told the witness's parents, returned with a tape measure, and photographed the print, which measured 13 to 14 inches long and looked wide. No creature was seen, and the print was described as heading back toward the woods.

The witness and three companions were coon hunting at night with three hounds along a logging road beside a swamp. The dogs yelped in fear and ran past the group back toward the truck. The group heard a deep growl and loud limb breaking and wood knocking moving toward them from the swamp, then left the woods and found the dogs shaking in their boxes on the truck.

The witness and a relative were rabbit hunting after a light fresh snowfall when they found large fresh footprints leading into a tree grove and noticed a musty odor. They heard nothing, became frightened, and left immediately for the car. The witness notes the memory is old and that no photos were taken.
Possible vocalization/intimidation at Ouabache State Park
The witness, on duty overnight at a park gate, heard a loud terrifying scream from about 250 yards away accompanied by the sound of a large tree snapping and falling. After waiting about 45 minutes in the booth, the witness walked to the same spot and heard another scream from about 50 yards away, then stayed in the booth until daylight. A search of the immediate woods the next morning found nothing unusual.
