Hiker leaves main trail and finds two sets of footprints
The witness left the main trail alone to explore off-trail toward a nearby lake. In damp decomposed granite he found two sets of fresh footprints, one smaller human-like set and a larger deeper set superimposed on it as if one maker was following the other. The tracks were lost in pine needles nearby, and the witness left to rejoin his companion.
Family finds trackway near Bear Valley
The witness was driving with family on a snow-covered road near Bear Valley looking for a sledding spot. About a mile from Highway 4 they noticed a line of large deep impressions in the snow on the shoulder and stopped to examine them. The impressions lacked toe detail after melting and freezing, measured about 16 inches long, and formed a straight line with strides of 56 to 60 inches that the witness could not match. The witness photographed the trail and submitted it as a possible track trail.
Three hikers observe tracks while mountain biking on a trail in a canyon
While hiking a trail to mines with two companions, the witness found large five-toed human-like footprints in mud and sand, including a 13-15 inch track and smaller tracks, and took photos. On the return in lower light the witness found additional clearer tracks. When left alone on the trail the witness felt watched and hurried down.
Tracks found by vacationers
The witness was playing in the snow near a river when they noticed a set of large tracks. The tracks led from the river into a patch of low trees. The witness did not follow the tracks out of fear.
Hunters are intimidated out of their hunting ground near Bear Valley
Two deer hunters reported that after a rock flew over their heads in a meadow, something unseen paralleled them down a trail for about a mile while throwing or rolling large rocks alongside them. Back at camp that night all four hunters heard a large tree fall across the creek after noticing an unusual absence of wildlife all day. Believing something did not want them in the valley, the group packed up and left that night.
