Late at night the witness was summoned to the back porch by a relative and shone a spotlight toward a large oak about 30 yards away. A tall hair-covered upright figure stood partly behind the tree, repeatedly peeking out as the light moved, then stepped fully into view facing them before retreating behind the tree and fleeing through the woods. The next morning the witness found two large footprints behind the tree and another unclear print nearby.
Night time sighting of a white creature near Kelso
Late at night at a wooded residence, a child went outside to tend a car, heard strange vocalizations and saw a white figure, then ran inside. A young man then shone a flashlight toward the woods, saw a large white furry bipedal creature, fired a shot, and the creature stumbled then fled on two legs while others watched from the porch and trees were heard breaking.

In the early morning the witness was at a rental mobile home property with his wife to check on tenants and let dogs out. The dogs refused to leave the porch while reacting to movement in an adjacent tobacco field. The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.

Two men had finished dredging for gold and were talking when they noticed a large dark creature about 100 feet away partly behind a dead tree and tailings pile. The creature reached up and snapped off a tree limb, looked at them for 10 to 20 seconds while a strong smell was present, then turned and walked into the woods. They stayed in the area for two more weeks with no further sightings but reported smelling it several times.

In May/June 1986, the witness was helping a companion gather firewood on a farm when they found trees stripped of bark with snapped branches. Later, while sitting by a pond, the witness saw a very tall, muscular, reddish-brown upright creature about 100 feet away at an electric fence near tobacco trailers. The creature sniffed the air and grunted while a dog barked, then ran back into the woods. The companion's father arrived with a shotgun and found footprints larger than his boot where the creature had stood.
