From a sixth-floor hotel balcony before dawn, the witness watched a tall hair-covered biped for five to six minutes at a distance. The being stared, rocked side to side, and repeatedly leaned to pull bark from a large pine tree. Afterward the witness fetched security and later returned in daylight to find fresh bark, deep ground indentations, and possible scat.

He then saw a tall black-haired upright figure tear a limb from a tree and look at him. He fled by bike toward the main road while hearing branches breaking and heavy footsteps alongside him until he reached the highway, where the sounds stopped.
