Hiker hears distinct sasquatch vocalization near end of Mt. Baldy Road
On the morning of September 9, 2025, the witness parked at Manker Flats to prepare for a hike. While at the vehicle, the witness heard a very loud wail or scream lasting about 10-15 seconds from the north. The witness froze, then started a hike after a delay, having captured only the tail end of the sound on phone video.
"Ohio howls" heard by campers in Kern Canyon 15 miles north of Isabella Lake
The witness and his wife were camping with their dogs when they heard repeated long howls echoing from the surrounding ridges. The witness joked at the time that it was Bigfoot but later became convinced after a shopkeeper said other campers reported similar sounds. After returning home the wife identified a played recording as exactly matching what they had heard.
LAST NIGHT (10/11/24): Possible sighting of a sasquatch just outside Avery CA (Stanislaus NF)
The witness was outside a cabin at night with a high-power spotlight while taking a dog out to relieve itself. After hearing a noise from the woods behind the property, the witness shone the light on a tall light-brown upright figure fleeing away. The figure was glimpsed briefly at close range and then again at greater distance as dogs in that direction barked, and the witness estimated it at over eight feet tall and distinct from deer or bears.
YESTERDAY (09/01/2024): Hikers hear chatter and whoops of a large animal in Founders Grove, 33mi SE of Eureka
The witness and a companion were hiking the Founders Grove loop just after sunset when the woods went quiet and they heard chattering vocalizations. They felt immediate dread and judged whatever made the sounds to be huge. As they retreated toward their vehicle they heard movement in brush going deeper into the woods, and when the witness whooped back the chatter answered again. They hurried back to their car.
Scream near McKinleyville, California (2024)
The guest and his wife were walking back to their car after fishing a river near their rental. About 200 feet from the car they heard an extremely loud, deep guttural yell from the dense brush. They did not see anything, did not hear movement afterward, and left quickly. The guest says he has never heard wildlife sound like that.
Fisherman hears heavy wood knocks 1 mile below Trinity Dam
The witness was fishing alone at Lewiston Lake on a foggy, drizzly morning. Between 8:05 and 8:08am the witness heard one loud distant wood-on-wood knock from above, followed about a minute later by two more solid knocks in close succession. No source was seen.
Vocalization near Susanville, California (2022)
The witness, spouse, and dog were camping and cooking at a campsite after dark. They heard hoot-like calls from below, then a loud growl-howl about 100 yards behind them lasting seconds, followed by answering howl-scream calls from two other directions. They judged the sounds unlike known local wildlife and indicating communication among several sources. The dog hid in the car and the couple packed up in the dark and drove home the same night.
Bigfoot-like Howls and Stalking at North Battle Creek Reservoir, Lassen National Forest
Late at night at a forest reservoir campground, the witness's adult son was reading in his tent while his parents slept nearby. His small dog began shaking and growling as very heavy bipedal footsteps approached, stopped at and partially circled the tent, an approach that repeated three times despite shouting. The son briefly exited with a weak light but saw no one and only heard heavy walking receding. The next morning no tracks were found near the tent except deer tracks some distance away.
Possible sasquatch vocals heard by hikers in Humboldt Redwoods State Park
A family group was finishing a hike on a familiar trail when they heard a loud, unfamiliar yell/scream that carried through the woods. Three members of the group who heard it stopped in their tracks, and the group felt watched until they drove away. The reporter noted the sound did not match familiar local animal sounds.
Possible "Ohio howls" heard on Hoopa Indian Reservation
The witness woke early in the morning and went to the bathroom with windows open. She heard a loud, drawn-out deep vibrating howl coming from the mountains behind the house that she did not recognize as any known animal or human. Afterwards the area fell completely silent with no dogs or crickets, and she remained awake listening for more sounds.
Vocalization near Topanga, California (2021)
The guest and his bandmate approached a cave and heard a gentle male voice speaking an unintelligible strange language for about thirty seconds. After announcing themselves the voice stopped, then something jumped about twenty feet into brush and moved bipedally up the ridge toward them making bad mountain-lion-like sounds. They counted to three and fled to their van.
Growl near Willow Creek, California (2020)
The witness and a companion parked at a rocky river beach for the night in an SUV with the hatch open. After rain and fog set in they heard a low guttural growl followed by a loud scream and multiple high and low voices that seemed to talk, howl and laugh while surrounding the vehicle, plus loud thumps. Terrified, they drove to a friend's house and waited until sunrise, then returned to find all gear untouched and no tracks.
Possible tracks found close to Giant Forest Museum in Sequoia National Park
The witness was hiking with family near Bear Hill Trail and photographing the children when two large, deep footprints with distinct toes and heels were noticed on a hillside. A third similar print was later found higher up on the trail, and photos and video were taken including the witness's own foot for scale. The witness also heard a twig snap uphill but saw no person or animal.
Mattole River Watershed (Lost Coast region) resident reporting loud knocks and vocalizations
The witness reports waiting alone at dusk at the gated entrance to a remote conservation area when they heard a very loud unfamiliar wail/scream-like call from a wooded slope a few hundred meters away. After additional calls and a pause, a second similarly loud and unfamiliar call answered from a different direction a few hundred meters away. The witness interpreted the exchange as communication between two large unknown animals and doubted a prank due to the remoteness and solitary 45-minute wait.
Whoops and knocks at campground near Julian
While camping near town, the reporter waited outside a restroom before dawn and heard a loud tree knock from the north. Shortly after returning to the trailer, the reporter and a companion heard a single whoop from the east, followed by a brief burst of calling jays. Later that morning the group heard additional knocks and whoops from the west, southeast, and south.
Couple experience large rock thrown and possible bluff charge in Inyo National Forest
The witness and a companion hiked to a high-elevation lake to fish and stopped to rest on the trail. A large angular rock landed near them after they heard it moving through the air, followed by a loud grunt, a foul odor, and heavy footsteps approaching downhill. Fearing a bear, they fled down the switchback trail while the footsteps cut straight downhill behind them for about five minutes before stopping. They abandoned personal items, returned to the trailhead, and left the area.
Wood knock in California (2018)
The witness and friends camped at a small creekside site off a mountain road in late June 2018. After evening knocking sounds and a strong musky odor at night, a large human-like creature with yellow eyes appeared at the witness's tent, grabbed it, lifted and dropped the witness inside, then left in a few steps after a shot was fired. The group saw large footprints, later heard whoops from multiple directions, and had a basketball-sized rock thrown at their truck while leaving.
Twist near Big Bear City, California (2017)
Later the same day the pair hiked deep into the forest, first noting twisted broken branches pointed toward the trail. On a thicker, darker return trail they heard bipedal footsteps on both sides, a whistle, a deep vocal sound, and smelled a foul odor while the woods stayed silent. After reaching a logging clearing with empty cabins, they turned to see the back of a tall dark-haired biped before hurrying to a paved road where workers directed them out.
Whoop near Hiyuchi, California (2016)
While mushroom picking spread out from a friend, the witness heard a snap and a tree fall nearby with no wind. After waiting silently, the witness heard whoop-like vocalizations above and below that seemed to communicate and track movement. The two men walked out slowly while the vocalizations followed them to the truck.
Several incidents 2 miles west of New Bullards Bar Reservoir
The witness and a companion were watching a meteor shower on their wooded property when the witness shone a flashlight beyond the garden and saw large, wide-set eyeshine. The entity hid its head behind a fence post and peeked out for about a minute. It then abruptly left the area, with branches breaking heard as it walked bipedally into the woods.
