The witness reports hearing strange knocking sounds at night while home alone. The next day she found a small oak behind the barn snapped about eight feet up that had been intact the day before when she had been in the area with a relative. The witness left a cabin on foot to photograph the lake and fall colors. While walking back toward the cabin he heard loud, rhythmic wood-on-wood knocks coming from a wooded, hilly area. The knocks stopped when he stopped to look and resumed briefly when he walked again. He saw no source, noted no odor, and heard no other vocalizations.

After calling for about two hours he watched approaching turkeys suddenly flee, then heard slow bipedal footsteps in the creek bottom. A dark figure he first mistook for a person approached to about eighty feet, grabbed a pine, vocalized angrily with language-like sounds and growls, displayed teeth, rocked and shook the tree, then walked away and gave a loud abrupt yell. The witness waited before leaving on foot, heard a loud fresh tree break, ran to his four-wheeler, left, then returned with a rifle to watch the treeline.

After turkeys spooked he heard footsteps, saw a figure he first took for a man, then watched it grab a tree, vocalize angrily, rock the tree, bare teeth and leave with a loud yell. He describes its size, barrel build, face, mud and debris in hair, then walked out watchfully, left gear, prayed, and sat with a rifle by his truck.

The witness got lost after dark on a misty rainy night in February while hunting in the bottoms and tried to follow a creek out. He shined a light and sensed bodies on both sides of the creek bed, followed by sudden commotion of leaves, heavy movement and breathy grunting. The sounds moved behind him about thirty feet and then stopped abruptly without fading into the distance, which he later interpreted as the same group of creatures.

He walked into commotion on both sides with heavy movement and breathy grunting that shifted behind him and stopped. After hearing wood knocks and tree breaks for several minutes, he spotted a tall figure about 200 yards away and viewed it through a rifle scope, describing an 8-foot upright figure with a flat face that smelled the air then ran off on two legs. He climbed down, found a large five-toed human-like track where it had slid, heard whoops from two directions, and left the area.

Two witnesses taking a dog for exercise at the end of a swamp road noticed a large dark hairy torso-like shape beside a tree about 50-75 feet away and watched it shift for a few minutes. After driving to two other spots up the road, they heard footsteps approaching and then something running toward them through the woods, which frightened the dog. They left the area and returned later that afternoon, but the shape was gone.
