Late on a spring night in 1979 or 1980, the witness had been parked in a truck on a pipeline with a companion for about 45 minutes. After hearing rustling ahead, the witness turned on the headlights and reported a very large hair-covered creature standing a few feet in front of the truck. The witness immediately reversed to leave, and when looking forward again the creature was gone.

The witness and a companion went squirrel hunting in a wooded area early on a Saturday morning. After firing into a squirrel nest, they heard an extremely loud roar twice that seemed to shake the woods. In 1977 two companions hunting frogs at a remote pond heard a roar and saw trees moving. One saw a large brown hairy form partly hidden behind a cedar tree and swaying. Both fled on foot while hearing heavy thuds, and one saw a large rock bouncing nearby. A few days later they returned and found a cleared limb bed and a limb torn from a mesquite tree, but no footprints due to rocky ground.

While checking trot-lines at night from a rowboat, the witness and a companion had to carry the boat across a shallow gravel bed. They heard sharp cracking sounds and then something rushing toward them from the bank, breaking trees. In moonlight they saw a tall dark hairy figure with orange eyes and long arms approaching quickly, prompting them to flee by boat to camp and then leave the area by vehicle.

The witness and a companion were in a canoe checking a trotline across the river after midnight while camping with their fathers. From about 30 feet away behind bank vegetation they heard two very loud, low-frequency vocalizations described as howls, grunts and growls that could be felt in the chest. They abandoned the trotline, paddled back and ran to camp, where both adults had been awakened by the sound. The group left the site the next morning and shortened the trip.

They then heard crashes, a cackle and growl, and something like a steamroller coming through the woods parting the treetops. The encounters occurred at night from a vehicle, with the figure seen as a tall silhouette in headlights and heard making threatening noises while moving through brush. On one occasion the creature was described as bouncing a limb, whose height was measured the next day, and daytime searches reportedly found bones in the creek. Shots were allegedly fired at the creature without apparent effect.

After the brother woke and made a noise, the figure turned, showing a flat-faced profile and hunched posture, then walked away and was seen from the back door as covered in dark hair. The figure paused when they struck the glass, then continued leaving. A day later they found tracks behind the house leading toward the houses.

The witness collided with a large hair-covered creature and both the creature and the two companions screamed. The pair fled in panic over the cliff edge and survived the fall, while other campers heard the screams and saw the fall.
