Neighbors a short distance up the creek called the witness's father around 1 or 2 in the morning. They reported screaming and noise with dogs and children frightened. The father loaded guns and drove down, but the witness did not recall what happened there.

The witness was alone in the dark near the site of the first sighting. He saw the full silhouette of a large figure standing in moonlight about 30 to 40 feet away. It made a low mumbled sound, then turned and splashed across the creek, and he ran to the house.

The guest relayed his father's account of a night when the family was home while the grandfather was away hauling freight. After a foul odor and prolonged barking by the guard dog, a long loud vocalization was heard, the dog was apparently dragged from under the chicken-coop camper, and three household members separately reported red eyes staring through windows. By morning the dog was dead and mutilated, all chickens were gone with feathers and footprints scattered, and the coop hatch had been opened from underneath.

The witness recalls numerous puzzling occurrences from 30-40 years ago on a family farm of about 100 acres with orchards and woods. These included trees reportedly moved to block trails, an elaborate woven arch structure, large human-like footprints with long strides, rocks and a branch thrown near the witness, loud clicking exchanges, and nighttime disturbances around the barn and house. No creature was reportedly seen clearly, and the interpretation as possible Sasquatch activity developed over later years.

After acquiring the property the witness's family spent summer weeks there and repeatedly heard loud knocking from woods behind a lake several hundred yards away. The knocks occurred often in summer, typically starting a couple hours before sunset and continuing after dark. In contrast, during winter camping trips the witness never heard such knocks.

The witness was fishing with five other boys near a house on Rolland Road when a breaking-log sound drew attention to a large dark hairy biped crouching in the woods east of the road. The boys ran to the house, and about an hour later they saw a lighter-colored hairy biped in the field west of the road while crashing sounds continued in the woods.

Two people entering the woods to deer hunt at daybreak encountered a large creature about 150 feet ahead. The creature stood up, paced, shook a large bush, and screamed at them, causing both to flee in panic. When the witness was about seven, the family found very large footprints on a Lake Superior beach. While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.

While deer hunting alone in rows of pines, the witness heard loud crashing that approached rather than retreated. After crouching to observe, the witness noticed a strong foul odor and saw a large white furry leg about twenty-five yards away. The witness remained still for about ten minutes until the sounds receded, then returned to the vehicle without mentioning the experience for years.

In summer 1965 the witness, then a child, joined other children searching sand dunes above Lake Huron after two children reported a frightening encounter. The figure walked steadily across the tracks and down into swampy woods about 110 feet away without stopping.
