The witness and a relative were hunting elk when they followed a strong smell and clashing rock sounds to a ridge. They observed a large hair-covered animal squatting in a dry creek bed striking two rocks together while vocalizing, which then stood, leapt the creek, and ran upslope out of sight. They later collected two chipped rocks from the spot but found no tracks or hair.

At night around the campfire they smelled a strong foul odor, the dogs barked toward the darkness, and loud guttural vocalizations came from just outside the firelight two or three times. After a few minutes the smell faded and the dogs calmed. The next morning they found smashed grass behind a boulder near the tent.

Four bowhunters bugling for elk heard a powerful howl they said was not an elk and was not made by their own party. As the sounds drew closer, one member of the party saw a dark brown flash of fur in the trees but could not identify it. The group then drove out of the area and did not return to hunt.

The witness was scouting high-elevation timber for a later elk hunt when he noticed tree breaks, pushovers and tracks. From boulders he glassed about eight hairy bipeds with young, watching them for about half an hour as some appeared to hide at a choke point while others circled. At age twelve on a family road trip, the witness stepped half-asleep out of the truck camper after midnight to relieve himself. A large dark figure sat on its haunches on the path to the river about twenty to thirty feet away, backlit by the moon. After a frozen stare the witness shut the door, heard distinct bipedal footsteps, then a fist-sized rock and a freshly ripped branch struck the camper.

In the early 80s the father camped alone at a secluded bow camp and heard something large walk in talking gibberish like a drunk man and root through camp. It circled the tent and pressed a finger down on the canvas, leaving a half-moon cut, then left toward a second babbling voice on the hill. On a later return visit a green aspen blocked the road with no wind and structures were noted.

They retreated to a bedroom without curtains where they heard breathing and scratching and saw a hairy hand against the window screen. The witness and at least one other person parked on a dirt road near a stream at night. They heard sloshing in the water and later saw a large figure run across the road ahead of the headlights and heard heavy steps in sagebrush. Using a spotlight they glimpsed a tall dark primate-like figure cross in front of a large boulder and enter dense timber.

A young boy resting in the upper bunk of a small cabin heard a strange animal-like call followed by footsteps and rustling outside. When he looked through the open shutter window he saw a dark, very hairy face with glowing eyes staring in, which fled when he screamed. The family later estimated anything peering into that high window from the sloped ground would have to be about seven to eight feet tall, but they found no trace the next day.

Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.

The witness and spouse were bow hunting in timber when something unseen followed them, starting and stopping as they moved. After the witness shot a deer, the follower vocalized loudly and thrashed brush and trees while pursuing them downhill. The pair abandoned the deer and left the timber, with the follower continuing to vocalize behind them to the timber edge.

A hunting guide and a young client spotted a Sasquatch below some mule deer. The client fired despite being told not to, wounding the smaller one. A larger one charged, jammed rifle failed, and the guide fled after seeing it tear the client apart. Authorities were said to have recovered body parts and recorded it as a [name withheld] attack.

The guest and two companions camped by a river while fishing and kept a stump burning in a fire ring overnight. Something heavy entered the camp and moved around the tent without approaching the fire. The group shouted, and the visitor eased back into the woods rather than running.

The following year the witness camped in the backcountry with two relatives. Around 2 a.m. he woke to heavy padded footsteps walking near the tent that stopped and resumed. The next morning while separated by a creek he twice heard loud breaking several hundred yards up the slope, and the group saw no game on that side of the mountain.
