The guest took his two young sons camping in a steep Colorado canyon to practice survival skills. During the night they heard a loud scream from across the canyon that approached their camp within a minute. For hours something circled them just beyond firelight, snapping large branches, making heavy thuds, and later mumbling, whistling and throwing sticks. The guest kept a large fire and shotgun through the night until morning.

In the morning the cooler had been moved, items were strewn, and an oily feel and stale smell were noticed.

The witness and her husband returned home late at night and both heard a loud terrifying shriek the husband recognized from an earlier unfamiliar sound. While standing around a campfire after midnight on a winter backpacking trip, the witness and two friends repeatedly heard loud bipedal steps approach when they looked away. They charged into the woods to confront it. They never saw it but heard it run on two feet, jump off a cliff line, and continue down the valley.

The witness stopped by a roadside woodlot after noticing a freshly broken young tree and large depressions in leaf litter described as human-shaped footprints. After putting a rifle in the vehicle, the witness heard footsteps and then an extremely loud, deep guttural roar close enough to feel in the chest and fled by vehicle to meet the companions at a local establishment. The companions said they had heard strange noises and felt uneasy all day, and the group left the area that night.

The witness reports standing outside his home in the evening after returning from a store when he heard a very loud scream followed by four loud knocks from the nearby woods. He called to his wife, and four more loud knocks were then heard. He estimated the source was about 100 feet away and said he could hear trees moving.
