The guest recounts that his wife heard wood knocks while hiking the Buckeye Trail with friends. The companions kept walking without reacting while she looked around to locate the source. No visual or other detail was reported.

While the guest's husband fished, the guest climbed a switchback trail and tried to whistle to get his attention. The whistle failed but something immediately whistled back loudly from straight ahead. The guest could see open woods with no undergrowth but saw nothing that could have made the sound and quickly left.

While living in a mountainside home the guest and the guest's husband lay awake at night with the bedroom window open. They heard a very loud, mournful male voice saying a single word from below the cliff. The guest believed it was too loud to be human and thought it was a Sasquatch.

The witness had purchased remote wooded land for a future retirement property and was staying overnight in a pop-up trailer. During the night the trailer door was found open and a loud, terrifying roar was heard from an estimated 50-75 meters away. The witness could not match the sound to any known animal after later searching recordings and discussing it with coworkers.

Shortly after arriving in March the group noticed a newly fallen tree by the road and a collapsed structure plus fresh cutting near the creek. After warning children to stay on the near side of the creek, the witness's daughter reported being growled at and the witness then heard it too. That night the group heard repeated growls from brush near a clearing, checked with lights, heard movement, falling rocks and breaking wood without seeing the source, then left to camp elsewhere.

While working second shift on the Key Peninsula, the guest sat smoking on the back porch about 2:30 in the morning. He heard a loud belch from the woods about fifteen feet to his left, twice. He joked about it, then decided only something large and upright would make that sound and went inside.
Unidentified sound near Russell, Massachusetts
The guest stopped at a roadside rest area on a warm fall day while driving back roads to a school event. While sitting and listening to leaves and water, natural sound suddenly cut out for a few seconds with a sense of dread and pressure like ringing ears. Hearing returned shortly after and a later hearing check found nothing wrong.
Dogs chased out of the woods by something
Two men were camped overnight with two dogs when the dogs ran out into the darkness after something unseen. A loud scream and several further screams were heard as the unseen source approached to about 30 yards, sending the dogs back to the camp terrified. The men shouted a warning and fired shots toward it, after which it left.

"Gutteral" yells heard on several occasions
The witness was crossing a ridge on an elk hunting trip in the early morning and felt watched. Shortly after, they heard a low guttural yell-like sound several times. The witness stated the sound did not match familiar local animals such as mountain lion, elk, or moose.

After sunset as the last fisherman on the bank near Oxbow Park, the witness heard something huge across the river grunting and making strange animal sounds while breaking its way down to the riverbank. The encounter ended there.

While camped at the end of a washed-out logging road with a coworker, the witness heard weird mumbling like a hushed conversation behind him at night. The next morning hiking further up they found tree breaks about 10-11 feet high in a row on large trees with no equipment signs. The coworker had a severe panic attack on realizing hands must have made them.

While fishing for spring chinook in a remote coastal canyon with a friend, the witness heard extremely loud wood knocks from about 100 feet above in the canyon. He felt the sound hit his chest and knocked back with a stick, receiving an immediate much louder response. They never saw the source.
Rock throwing in North Carolina
While servicing cameras the guest found fresh limbs laid across his trail, a chest-high stick wedged sideways in a laurel thicket, and another stick at nose height. A rock sailed over his head into a clearcut and something growled twice nearby. A large pole-sized tree had been broken over a locust while he was inside.
