The witness was staying with three companions and a dog in a mountain yurt near Glenwood Springs. Around midnight the dog became agitated while staring at the treeline, the witness's girlfriend heard footsteps behind the yurt, and a strong sulfur odor filled the area. After they doused the campfire, the witness heard a guttural yowl about thirty feet away followed immediately by the sound of a tree being pushed over, then a second more distant yowl. The group went inside and left the next morning, later learning a friend inside had also heard the tree fall.

On a later solo trip just after ice-out, the witness camped on a gravel bar and heard repetitive drum-like pounding and sounds like boulders rolling down the mountain, then found broken and twisted green tree sections floating in the water the next morning.

Shortly after Christmas the witness took his kids to a drawn-down reservoir. They heard sharp cracks ringing through the woods that he first took for pistol shots. He went to check for shooters but found no cars or people and noted the sound changed direction.

The guest acted as bait on a beach while on a boat trip, making calls that were answered. Something was seen running on thermal and came in close but stayed behind foliage. The crew had to pick him up by boat from the rocks.

The guest took two companions to a valley with prior activity on a freezing December morning. Loud rock clacks came from the top of the valley where no other people or cars could be. He heard the clacks again on the way down and took them as likely related to the phenomena he researches.

While at base camp with his children on the family trip, the guest heard a loud tree crack through the woods. He described it as his first ever wood knock experience. It occurred in broad daylight while they were sitting there.

On an early solo trip the guest spent the day in a canyon with his three-legged dog and found no major sign. While climbing out past the halfway point, a loud wrenching roaring clicking sound blasted from the canyon bottom. The dog was terrified and they left quickly.

After sitting up all night alone in a hunting blind, the guest fell asleep in his tent. Around 10AM the same canyon sound blasted his tent three times. He ran out, saw nothing, and found a large red apple placed before a trail camera had vanished between frames in broad daylight without triggering the camera.
Whoop near Oakridge, Oregon
A couple took their infant son and dog camping and boating at Hills Creek Reservoir. After dark they heard strange owl-like whoops and felt intense dread while frogs fell silent. Later, from inside their tent, they heard loud two-legged footsteps circle to the front where the fabric moved as if someone tried to enter. Terrified, they fled to their truck, packed up in the dark, and left the area before sunrise.
