After finishing a tour at a wilderness lookout in 1949, the witness hiked out along a wide, flat trail. From about 100-150 yards to the right, the witness heard several loud impacts described as long dry posts striking tree stumps. No loggers or campers were known to be in the area, and the witness found the sounds unlike anything previously heard in the woods.

An elderly mail carrier told the witness he was returning by horse and buggy from a dam community in the 1940s when a tall hair-covered wild man came from the bush screaming. His horse bolted and the creature ran alongside the wagon. He said he kept his head down and pretended not to see or hear it, which he believed saved him.

The teller's grandfather was riding a mule at night in 1934 while courting his future wife. Something in the woods startled or spoke to the mule, causing it to bolt hard for the barn. The rider held on prone and crashed into the barn wall, destroying a candle lantern.

The guest's grandfather was at a railroad-tie cutting job site with co-workers when they heard a loud guttural scream rising in pitch. A very tall hairy human-like creature stepped out of shaking bushes and screamed again, causing the men to flee. When they returned with the rest of the crew they found very large footprints in mud and noted a horrible smell.

A farmer heard noise in goats, shot what he thought was a bear in the pen, and found a huge hair-covered man-like being. Roars came from woods, and beings hit the cabin hard enough to knock it off rock supports while the family shot through walls until daylight. The family fled to a neighbor a mile away, later buried the shot body and poured a house foundation over it.

The guest's grandmother was walking the guest's father to school or the bus stop before dawn along a tall solid-wood fence in the Big Thicket. Something large and heavy paced them on the other side, stopping when they stopped and moving when they moved. They turned back halfway for fear of meeting it where the fence ended, later judging it too big and wrong-sounding for a panther.

Five miners in 1924 reported poltergeist-like activity around their mine and cabin, including voices, machinery sounds, an apported pencil and isolated footprints. After one miner reportedly shot a creature, several creatures allegedly attacked the cabin at night throwing rocks and trying to enter. Only left footprints were reported the next morning.
Albert Ostman account -- Multiple-day encounter with family of Sasquatches
A prospector camping alone in coastal mountains awoke at night to being carried inside his sleeping bag for hours to a small enclosed valley. There he encountered four hair-covered individuals described as a family group and was held for about six days living on remaining canned food. He gained favor with the younger ones using snuff and handmade utensils, then incapacitated the adult male with a large dose of snuff and escaped during the resulting commotion, hiking south to a logging camp for help.

A man was reportedly held captive for six days in the early twentieth century in coastal Canada. During captivity he reported hearing the captors chattering amongst themselves back and forth. The account was later documented in a book by a well-known researcher.

The witness was prospecting and camping near the head of Toba Inlet when supplies were disturbed for three nights. He was then carried inside his sleeping bag for about three hours to an enclosed valley. There a family group of four hair-covered beings held him for six days, during which he shared small gifts and observed their behavior. He escaped after the adult male swallowed snuff and became ill, then hiked out to civilization.

In the years before the cabin was built the group heard strange whistling between ridges and were ordered to carry guns away from camp. During the first mining year they found a very large track in sand near the creek. These signs preceded the later shootings and night attack.
