Hikers report possible vocalizations in Ouimet Canyon Provincial Park
Two companions hiking the lookout trail at Ouimet Canyon heard two or three loud howl-like screams from across the canyon late in the morning. They scanned the far side with binoculars but saw nothing, then heard a fainter similar sound at the second lookout. They finished the hike on alert and did not report it at the time, only later associating it with a Sasquatch call heard on television.
Moose hunter has morning encounter in hills of northern Ontario
While moose hunting alone, the witness slipped and fell in moss. On looking up he saw a black, large, upright creature about 10 yards away staring at him. When he raised his rifle it screamed, ran away upright at high speed in a manlike manner, and disappeared.

Later on the same canoe trip, the witness and the witness's brother camped on a mountain top. Late at night they heard very loud, deep, guttural screams from west of the ridge below that lasted 15 to 20 minutes. They stood by the fire looking toward the sound and could not identify it as any known animal.

The witness and one companion stood outside a rural house late at night and listened to distant, loud, high-pitched screams or mournful moans for about half an hour. The sounds faded in and out, at times requiring straining to hear, before growing fainter and stopping. While hunting moose by ATV the witness stopped on a trail for a snack while a companion rode ahead to scout. After hearing brush movement and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a tall, muscular, dark-haired biped step onto the trail, look toward the companion's direction and then at the witness, sniff and grunt, then walk silently across a meadow into thick brush. After the companion returned they found only indistinct marks and disturbed vegetation, then heard a single loud crack like wood being struck and fled the area.

While walking on a forested rural road at night after a family argument, the witness was approached by a growling farm dog. Loud booms and cracking from the woods stopped the dog, then a tall figure with glowing eyes roared. The dog whimpered and fled, the figure vanished, and the witness ran home.

As a teen living in a rented rural Ontario home, the witness explored an unused hillside barn in the fall and found a large dark mass buried in hay. The mass lifted a huge gorilla-like head and grunted, so she apologized and left. The witness and her husband paddled by canoe from a creek into a lake for a routine fishing trip. Near the lake opening they heard a loud hollow yell or scream from the far end and felt watched, moving into a nearby bay out of sight. In the bay they encountered a heavy overpowering unfamiliar odor and then left without fishing, paddling quickly back to their vehicle. They did not discuss it until after driving away, and the witness told no one else for almost 10 years.

Two friends camped at a remote lake far from town and spent the night in a tent listening to loud heavy bipedal footsteps pacing behind them. A radio with dead batteries emitted loud screeching static, prompting them to move to a fire on a rock by the lake. They later heard a loud shrilling whistle down the lake, renewed pacing, and an identical whistle from across the lake at daylight, after which all sounds stopped.

The witness, then a child sleeping in a cabin, claims to have been awakened around 2 a.m. by a deep sneeze-like sound and a strong foul odor. A very large monkey-like head peered into the bedroom window, blocking the light, with huge eyes, a large flat nose, little facial hair and deep nasal breathing. The witness whimpered, the mother entered and the figure left; in the morning plowed vegetation and footprints were reportedly seen.

As a 12-year-old staying at a cabin near Lake Superior, the guest walked to a large marsh at dusk to listen to frogs. The frogs suddenly went silent and he heard two very loud bellowing screams from the back of the swamp. Frightened, he ran back to the cabin in the dark and told his mother something was screaming.

The witness woke in bed at night and saw a large silhouetted figure with wide shoulders looking through a high bedroom window for about five minutes. The figure appeared to watch and breathe loudly, moving slightly when the witness moved, then turned and left. The witness ran to a parent, who went outside, saw nothing but noticed a strong smell. By morning two pet rabbits kept outside were gone, with no damage to the cage.
