The witness went squirrel hunting with the stepfather in Middle Fort Bottom toward dusk. Something paralleled them in the woods, stopping when they stopped. When they stopped once, something nearby gave a very loud scream described like a tornado siren mixed with a distressed cow, and it continued to follow them until they reached the car.

Something slapped the truck with open-palm force enough to rock it, then they heard footsteps on the road. The guest stepped out, glimpsed a huge dark figure moving left to right, then grabbed lights and guns but found nothing and continued hunting.

A year or two after the first incident, the guest and a friend were camping at a campground above town below the canyon in July. They heard an extremely loud scream like a woman screaming from the direction of the canyon. They ruled out foxes and mountain lions from prior experience.
