Over several summers the household repeatedly heard a loud high rising whistle in the early morning from the same wooded spot near home. In the third summer the witness and a relative walked toward the sound with baseball bats and got within about 25 yards. While the whistle continued they heard a wet growling sound at the same time and fled. The whistling was heard only once the next year and then stopped.

Two teenagers exploring an abandoned creamery had the companion climb a ladder to the upper floor, where he reported a foul smell and hairy legs behind a box. Both then heard heavy running overhead with ceiling boards moving, and saw a large hairy figure break through a wall, cross a roof, and appear directly after loading doors blew open. They watched it run away through a cornfield for several seconds until it went over or through a fence and disappeared.

He saw an ape-like animal outside the fence, fired into the air, and watched it stand up with its shoulders and head above the 6-foot fence before fleeing through bushes toward the woods. Around May 1970 the witness was camping with family at a lakeside campground and lay awake in a tent near midnight. After hearing trash being disturbed, the witness stepped out barefoot with a flashlight and saw a small upright furry creature looking into a hanging trash bag. The creature turned, made a squeal-grunt cry, and dashed away while the witness ran shouting to wake relatives. No tracks were found afterward because the area was trampled.

The witness was spending the weekend at a friend's house when the group heard loud high- and low-pitched screaming on a summer Saturday night. Three of them walked toward a field near a river with a flashlight and saw red eyes in the brush while hearing limbs breaking, then ran back to the house. Screaming reportedly continued for hours, and the next midday they found a snapped vine, bark torn high on a tree, disturbed ground, and a partial large heel print.

The witness and four companions were riding ATVs at night when they heard a single loud branch snap followed by dead silence. After moving to a clearing, a large log and then a limestone slab were thrown from an uphill wooded area toward a companion's ATV, barely missing the rider. The witness reports that during winter 1978-79 the household repeatedly heard loud howls and screams late at night around their rural home. Drain pipes around the home were knocked down and many large human-like footprints were found. The tracks were later destroyed by the witness's father, and the witness interprets the sounds and tracks as a Sasquatch passing through.

From 80 to 100 yards ahead they heard an extremely loud 6- to 7-second bellow-roar rising to high-pitched cries, then later a low 5-second growl from about 50 yards and a second shorter high-pitched scream after reaching the ridge top. They never saw the source and returned home without further incident.

The creature continued down a hill into pine forest while giving a very loud low-pitched howl that echoed. The occupants did not stop and drove on.

After waking to a noise and standing up, the witness heard screaming, growling/grunting and trees snapping as something moved away quickly. The witness followed snapped trees to the edge of the hardwoods but found no trail in leaf litter, then returned toward the vehicle.
