The group noticed many large footprints in sand along a small river leading uphill toward the forest. They then heard a noise from the ridge across the river and briefly saw a large creature moving bipedally over the ridge out of sight, after which they got back in the vehicle and left.

In the summer of 1975 the witness took a visiting relative to a clear-cut to camp. From timber across the cut they heard an extremely loud, deep roar. The witness fired a revolver into the air to scare what was thought to be a bear, but the roaring grew louder and faster, prompting the group to pack up and leave without ever seeing the source.

They heard repeated grunting and growling from an oak tree with a thrashing limb, then watched a large hairy biped drop into a ditch and run through the car's high-beam illumination.
