The guest returned to the same spot with martial arts students and did a loud whoop toward a dark silhouette across the river. Something behind them in a spruce grove ran toward them growling and breaking dry twigs. The group fled in a vehicle and saw nothing in the high beams.

The guest was on a solo boar hunt and camping in a primitive lean-to in Arkansas. At night he heard a wet low huff, then a large hairy biped tore out of the brush and charged toward his camp. He hid in the brush, watched it sniff the air and look toward him, then fled on foot and returned at daylight to collect his gear and leave.

The witness was camping at a small private campground when he heard something crashing toward camp. He shone a flashlight and saw a black, bear-headed creature about 5-foot-9 tall with kangaroo-like arms and an odd posture. After a few seconds it dropped low and scuttled rapidly into the woods, leaving him uneasy.

The witness, a tour guide, was waiting at the mountain-top cavern entrance with two tourists for the return bus on a cloudy day. They heard repeated thumping and noticed treetops moving along a ravine about 200 yards away, then briefly watched a huge bipedal figure with swinging arms run downhill toward the lake and disappear while footfalls remained audible. The witness radioed for the bus and left with the group, later quitting the job to avoid being alone on the mountain.

Two companions shoveling snow noticed barefoot-like prints and followed them into the woods. They watched two large greyish furry figures, one pounding and shaking a thin tree and the other digging in snow, while noticing a foul odor. The creatures vocalized and ran off when they noticed the witnesses, who briefly tried to follow before giving up.

The witness and a companion were hunting in woods near a creek and road. The witness briefly saw a small reddish-brown figure on an embankment about 100 ft away that disappeared within seconds. About five minutes later while walking on the road, both heard a loud combined moan-screech-howl sound that frightened them and they left.

The witness was walking a dog outside in the early morning when coyotes were heard howling at a distance. Shortly after the coyotes stopped, a loud wailing sound began coming from nearby woods and continued until about 5:30 AM. The witness described the sound as non-human, unrecognized, chilling and depressing, and reported no visual of its source.

Before dawn during deer gun season, three hunters were spread along a wooded creek bottom. The youngest hunter, waiting alone in the dark, reported a very large dark fur-covered biped running past and then walking away to the northwest. The two adults farther east did not see it but heard movement and a loud cracking sound in the trees.

Two teenage deer hunters have encounter while hunting

Two teenage hunters were in an enclosed ground-level deer stand when they noticed something approaching wild hogs. They watched for about 10 minutes as it moved crouched, scratched its head and made deer-like blowing sounds, then stood upright after hearing a shotgun clink, causing the hogs to flee. The witnesses fled on a 4-wheeler and one looked back to see it standing by a tree watching them leave.

While elk hunting on a mountain trail in the morning, the witness found a barefoot-like print in soft dirt and followed it briefly before losing it. Shortly afterward the witness heard an unfamiliar whistling sound, then heard it again later while watching a draw for elk. The combination struck the witness as strange and unlike anything heard in decades of hunting the area.

The witness was hunting alone from a ridge when repeated very loud, short guttural shouts or growls approached from about 200 yards to about 75 yards, accompanied by rapidly approaching breaking brush. He never saw the source but readied a camera and rifle while waiting motionless. After a spooked cow moose ran through a distant saddle, he threw rocks and fired a shot with no response and then left.

Late at night the witness and three companions were shining for deer from a truck when they spotted a large crouched figure with amber eyes in a field. The figure stood up and ran diagonally toward the truck as they drove away. It kept pace to within about ten feet while the truck reached at least 30 mph, then disappeared into the tree line.

On the night of October 28, 2000 the witness was hosting an adult-only backyard barbecue party with about a dozen guests. Around 10 p.m. the group heard loud unidentified sounds from the woods near the back of the property and heard heavy footsteps breaking branches that sounded bipedal. Two men entered the woods with a flashlight but the source stayed distant and was never seen, and no tracks were found in deep oak leaves.

During the night while trying to sleep, the witness heard a loud yelling sound from the ridge to the north, then heard it again several minutes later. The next morning a companion who had slept in a pickup confirmed hearing the same sound and had been startled enough to ready a car-horn remote.

The witness and a relative were southwest of Detroit in October 2000 when they heard a loud high-pitched scream from a creek bottom downhill. They heard the sound twice, first from about 300 yards away and then again from farther off to the right in big timber. The witness stated the sound was unlike anything heard before and left a strong impression on both of them.
