In September 2003 the witness and a hunting partner were coon hunting at night in a cornfield in Ohio with two hounds. The dogs went silent and their radio trackers gave no signal, then something large circled the men in the corn with audible running and heavy breathing. A large amount of foul-smelling clear slime splattered onto the partner, and the men retreated to the truck to find both dogs cowering underneath, unwilling to load.

The witness joined a small group for an overnight camp to practice outdoor skills. In the evening the witness walked east of camp, noticed a strong foul smell and heard vegetation breaking nearby before running back to the group. Overnight the campers were awakened by sounds around the camp followed by a loud crash, and by morning the food hung high above ground was gone, the supporting limb was damaged, and a foul smell lingered. The group then packed and left the area.

Scream heard while staying overnight near Greenwater

The witness had pitched a tent for the night off a forest road while traveling home and was awake reading inside the tent. He heard a long shriek/howl followed by multiple short bark/grunt sounds lasting about 90 seconds in total. His dog woke for the final seconds and stared into the darkness, and the forest had gone silent just before the calls, which he judged to be about a mile away.

Fifty-four year old salesman has a very close highway encounter

The witness was driving north on Hwy. 101 to visit a friend and pulled onto a wide spot to let faster cars pass. While stopped with the passenger window open, the witness heard an extremely loud scream and then saw a tall, dark-haired, muscular creature a few feet from the car. The creature took a couple of large steps toward the redwoods, went around a tree, and disappeared into dense brush. The encounter lasted only a few seconds and left the witness badly shaken.

The witness reported hearing very loud, long drawn-out howls over several months in summer and fall 2003. The sounds seemed to come from BLM land across the street from the witness's house in a pine forest area and did not match familiar local animals. The witness never saw the source, noting the events occurred in the evening and nighttime.

The witness was sleeping in a tent in an isolated area with a companion when awakened around 2 a.m. by an extremely loud crash likened to a large tree breaking, followed by sounds of something huge moving through trees and then total silence. The witness also noted shuffling outside the tent. A morning search found no broken trees, limbs, or footprints.

The witness camped overnight with two companions. During the night a companion heard loud banging like a log hitting a tree and woke the others. The next day the group noted frogs had gone silent and a dog went missing. While searching for the dog, the witness felt watched and encountered a strong rotting-like smell with no visible source.

The witness was spending the night at a relative's new rural home near Bend. During the night he awoke to a loud, repetitive throaty call he did not recognize as any known animal. The sound occurred in two bouts of about five or six two-second calls, followed by several minutes of unusual silence from neighborhood dogs.

The witness was awakened by barking dogs and went out with a rifle to check the property. Something rushed past in the dark and the witness fired shots, then resupplied and smelled a strong fecal and wet-grass odor. From a rooftop perch the witness watched a tall dark figure by a school bus that looked toward him, crouched, then ran away, accompanied by strange howl-growl sounds from dogs nearby.

The witness was camping with family near a lake and was awake with a child around 1-2 am when a very loud drawn-out scream was heard from woods to the south. A similar sound answered from across a cove to the west and repeated many times, growing louder before stopping. Relatives in nearby tent sites also heard the sounds, while the witness's spouse and children slept through them.

The witness and a companion were resting while hunting hogs with dogs when they heard distinct bipedal-sounding steps that appeared to mimic their own movements and approach them. Fearing it was a person, they fled across a swampy opening. After stopping, they heard loud thrashing and breaking of brush moving away from them through the treeline.

Two companions were fishing a branch of the river in the morning when they heard a sound like a dying deer and noticed a very strong odor. They then heard movement and footsteps on a nearby island but could not see the source over the terrain. One companion briefly reported seeing something he first thought was a bear and then suggested could be a bigfoot, after which the pair left the area.

While hiding in a ditch during a paint ball game with a young child, the witness claims both heard strange groaning sounds from toward nearby apartments. The child became frightened and they went inside, then the witness brought family and other children into the yard where the group reportedly heard the groans again. The witness later compared the sound to Mississippi groans recordings.

The witness and a friend were stationary outdoors at night when they heard three loud, powerful screams from uphill in dense, rugged terrain. The first scream was estimated about 50 yards away, with subsequent screams sounding progressively farther at about 100 and 200 yards and minutes apart. The witness described the sound as human-like but guttural with bass, offensive or warning in character, and unlike known wildlife. After looking around and firing rocks with a slingshot, they heard the final, more distant scream.

The witness was camping alone at Pansy Lake and awoke around 1 a.m. sensing something nearby. After hearing a loud branch break, the witness shone a flashlight toward the sounds and heard chest-beating and deep, ape-like vocalizations. The unseen source then crashed through brush down one side of a small canyon and up the other, vocalizing again before the night went quiet.

When he started to get up to confront who he thought was a person, he heard a very deep growl turning into a grunt that vibrated his body and frightened him into stillness. Afterward the night insects went silent, nothing outside was disturbed, and he kept the experience to himself for many years.

In August 2003 the witness left relatives fishing to hunt ginseng on a ridge near Yatesville Lake. He claimed hearing wood-like knocks and rocks moving through the trees, then seeing a large upright hair-covered figure watching him from across a hollow. He said he spoke to it, then hurried down the mountain hearing crunching steps and more thrown rocks behind him, and then packed his family out of the area.

The witness was camping overnight with friends in the Mount Baker National Forest near the river. Between 2 and 3 a.m. she heard movement approach her tent and brush against it, while a companion in a truck reportedly felt a nudge and saw a fleeting shadow. The next morning the witness found multiple large footprints around her tent, the trail and vehicles and made a plaster cast of the clearest one. While waiting alone in camp later that day she heard persistent clicking from the woods and felt watched.

While working as night watchmen at a logging site, the female witness walked back from checking equipment at dusk and heard a snorkeling sound by the creek. She saw a large fur-covered creature on its knees drinking, which then stood up very tall and stepped over a stump. She ran screaming toward the trailer while the creature also screamed, and her companion heard it screaming and breaking trees as it moved away.
