The sounds followed until near the truck then stopped. The witness suggested poachers while the cousin insisted it was not poachers.

The witness's cousin was bow hunting alone from a tree stand about 20 feet up when a tall figure was seen peeking from a shaded trail about 45 yards away. It stood fully upright, walked silently to the clearing edge, looked directly up at the hunter, swayed while staring, sniffed loudly and showed human-like teeth before turning with upper body first and walking away. The cousin was so frightened the cousin could not climb down until companions arrived after dark.

During a large group campout the witness and friends heard a powerful roar from an oak hammock after the campfire flared up. Three went to investigate and found a large round hay bale thrown from a flatbed truck with a bounce indentation and mud. Next morning large human-like tracks were found circling the entire campsite.

The witness, then a 10-year-old boy, was catching reptiles in a dry creek bed behind his grandparents' rural property when a tall slender ape-like female appeared across the creek with an infant. He crouched and pretended to eat vegetation to avoid provoking her while they observed each other for several minutes. A taller darker male then emerged, bared his teeth and displayed aggressively, and the female positioned herself between the male and the boy. Both creatures then left into the brush, and the boy ran home and told his grandmother, who said she believed him.
Chatter in Florida
While working in Florida, the witness repeatedly heard rapid chattering from woods behind the parking lot as distant coyotes went silent, and smelled a wet-dog and skunk-like odor from the swamp. The sounds lasted minutes and recurred on several occasions. Nothing was ever seen.

The witness returned with a friend in law enforcement to camp at the same area. Friday night they heard close footsteps and saw hogs, Saturday they measured the sighting location and saw broken vegetation, and Saturday evening the friend silently alerted and later said a creature watched them from about 15 feet. The witness was scouting for a redfish tournament from a kayak in Florida near NASA property in the early morning. After hearing a large splash, smelling a nauseating odor, jumping wild hogs, and hearing a powerful scream-growl with trees shaking, the witness saw a tall hairy human-like face watching from behind a palm frond. The creature charged to the water's edge about 15 feet away, stopped when the witness raised a paddle and yelled, stared again, then walked back into the woods, leaving the witness physically ill and anxious for weeks.

While barbecuing late in the evening the family heard an extremely loud prolonged scream rising to a deep bellow felt in the chest. A wildlife official suggested a panther though none had been reported for years. The same sound recurred nightly between 9 and 10 for almost two weeks, leading the parents to restrict the children from going outside alone.

Acting on a report and video of a large primate chasing deer, a group searched a Florida forest at night. The witness saw two heat signatures on thermal near a tree, then a tall figure ran toward other team members and away, leaving scat. The sample was collected from the wrong end and was never submitted for testing.
