On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.

Late at night the witness lay in bed and heard repeated moaning-howl sounds from outside through a partly open window. After looking from a lit front window without seeing anything, the witness went to a parent's back bedroom where the sound was still clearly audible. While deer hunting with a companion, the witness walked toward a creek bottom and heard loud rocks being struck together repeatedly from about 50-75 yards away in thick timber. Unable to see the source and believing no other hunters were in the isolated, trail-less area, they moved closer, heard the rock sounds again, then left for camp as the sounds stopped.

Two companions arrived early for deer hunting and sat waiting in a parked truck with the windows down before dawn. They heard repeated sets of seven very loud heavy knocks, with knocks near the truck answered from several hundred yards away after a few seconds, continuing for about eight minutes. A passing truck stopped, shone a spotlight toward the sound area, then left quickly, after which the knocking stopped.

After going to bed the group heard a loud screech/scream twice, and before sunrise one woman was awakened by a close growl near the tent. No creature was seen.

This was followed by about five minutes of very scary howling and screaming sounds ending with chirps. The family dog reacted fearfully and would not leave the porch. The witness later said the sounds matched online recordings of alleged vocalizations.

On August 24 at dusk the witness was preparing dinner at a forest-edge campsite when a very loud ascending swooping cry came from the hillside above, followed by several higher shrieks. The witness woke in the middle of the night while camping in a tent at a wooded campground near Baker Lake. For about an hour the witness listened to distant yelping and other loud vocalizations that sounded distinct from dogs barking elsewhere in the campground, along with sounds described as rocks being thrown in the woods. The witness did not see anything and reported that no companions mentioned hearing the sounds the next day.

The figure walked bipedally down the hill, across the flat yard, and into the swamp without stopping or looking around. A nearby loud howl that turned into a roaring scream answered the call, followed by two more distant replies farther up the canyon as the call was repeated. The witness was walking home at night near a creek when something began throwing sticks and rocks and following her. The throwing reportedly paused when cars passed. She ran to a bridge where the pursuer entered bushes but continued throwing objects, while she heard footsteps, smelled a strong bad odor, and glimpsed only a large dark figure. Footprints were reportedly found in sand the next day.
