Vacationer hears possible howls at night near Henderson Lake

The witness was sleeping in a cabin with family and awoke in bed during the night. Through an open window they heard a very loud, unfamiliar prolonged howl coming from right outside. They initially thought it might be an elk but later, after hearing recordings, wondered if it could have been a Bigfoot. No one else in the cabin reportedly heard the sound.

The witness and a companion were fishing from a canoe at night when they heard loud screams coming from a wooded hill. Shortly after, they heard something moving bipedally through the woods toward the screams, loudly breaking sticks and branches. They stayed in place listening for almost an hour before leaving.

They described at least three separate voices calling back and forth and moving closer over about two hours, while dogs cowered and cats hid and other night sounds stopped. They could not identify the sounds as known animals and later felt they resembled whoop recordings attributed to Bigfoot.

After the property owner and another man drove away, two unseen figures on the ridge behind the cabin howled back and forth for six to eight hours whenever the guest went outside. The howling stopped abruptly when vehicles returned. The guest believed the sounds were Bigfoot.

After later reading reports, the witness concluded the visitor rummaging through their belongings had been a Bigfoot.

The witness was visiting family property after a death in the family and walked to a truck late at night while relatives waited inside. She heard a distant howl she said did not match coyote, dog, or wolf sounds she knows. They then heard a series of loud, deep, aggressive bellowing vocalizations that seemed to come from 50 to 200 yards away in nearby canyons, each lasting several seconds. About 15 minutes after the last call, coyotes were heard from several directions and no further similar sounds occurred.

The witness was camped alone beside the Buffalo River on a solo turkey hunt. At about 4:30 a.m. while eating breakfast at camp, the witness heard a loud whoop-like call from the mountainside to the southwest, followed within two seconds by an even louder similar call from across the river to the northwest. The witness judged the second sound was not an echo and interpreted the two calls as two Sasquatches communicating from roughly one-quarter to one-third mile away.

About 15-30 minutes later they heard large rocks crashing downhill from a closer position on their side of the mountain.

They heard faint whoops from multiple directions that at times overlapped, then paused, then resumed from a different direction. The witness interpreted the sounds as three individuals calling to each other to meet, and the group felt fortunate to have heard them.

They then saw a large dark furry animal running away through small trees, pushing them aside, and they left the area.

Over about 8-10 minutes he heard three howl-like vocalizations that sounded progressively closer, the last from behind the outhouses. Feeling uneasy, he left the area immediately.

The witness and a companion drove to a prior sighting location in the afternoon to investigate. Shortly after exiting the vehicle they heard a loud whack followed by rhythmic knocking sounds. The witness walked into the surrounding woods while maintaining radio contact and heard loud bipedal-sounding footsteps ahead that continued for several minutes. When the witness returned, the companion said the knocks had stopped at the same time, and no tracks were found.

They heard three loud whoops from about a quarter-mile east, near a spot they had driven past minutes earlier. The witness imitated the sound, then listened with the engine off for several minutes, heard nothing more, and left.

The witness and daughter exited the back of the house after a rainstorm and noticed a foul odor like rotten eggs and garbage. The witness then heard a deep growl and saw a tall hair-covered figure about 25 feet away step from behind a pecan tree into plain view. They observed each other for about two minutes before the figure turned and ran.
