The witness stayed awake in a tent at a lakeside campground after a daytime bear encounter left them on edge. Around 1 a.m. they heard about a dozen short whoop-like sounds spaced a second or two apart. Around midnight the witness was with two friends in a small forest near the house when they heard a large branch snap. The witness saw a tall outline about 15 to 20 feet away leaning with one arm against a tree and staring, then it turned and walked toward the road while the witness ran. Companions did not see the figure, and the next day the witness found fresh paths and broken and uprooted trees in the area.

She listened from an open window and woke her son, who also listened and said he had never heard such a sound. The witness, a long-haul driver, stopped alone at a remote rest area for a dinner break. While outside the truck he felt watched and quickly returned to the vehicle. Over about 8-10 minutes he heard three howl-like vocalizations that sounded progressively closer, the last from behind the outhouses. Feeling uneasy, he left the area immediately.

The witness and a companion were hiking out from an overnight camp when they heard rhythmic tapping like stones striking together from two separate spots in the trees. They considered the alternating sequences might be communication or a distress signal. After the companion struck rocks together four times, they heard seven quick taps in reply followed by silence, then they left the area.
BC family sees a possible family group of sasquatch
The witness was on a family drive for hiking near Ashnola when the group heard loud screaming and howling from the forest that the son compared to alleged sasquatch sounds heard online. A car horn blast stopped the sounds. The group then drove about a quarter mile and the witness stopped to examine old large footprints in snow in the middle of the road.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.
