The witness and a young relative spent the night in a camp trailer near the family house. Over several hours at night they heard heavy bipedal footsteps circling the trailer, brushing and clawing sounds on the siding, door and ceiling vent, and later blows to the trailer. The witness reported a brief glimpse of a long shaggy finger-like shape through the vent screen, and said the sounds withdrew when a car approached and returned later.

While hunting with a dog in the late afternoon, the witness felt watched. The dog ran into a thicket and barked, then a loud scream was heard over the barking followed by snapping branches, and the dog fled home. The witness then saw a tall dark outline standing in the brush about 25 yards away that seemed to start moving toward him, so he ran home and found the dog hiding.

Two children testing walkie-talkies in dense woods noticed a dark-faced figure watching them from behind a fallen tree. After several minutes of it shifting position and studying them, they backed away, saw it rise and place its hands on the trunk, then screamed and ran. They heard a loud crack and glimpsed the black, powerfully built biped running away almost silently.

The witness went inside for a rifle, heard the thing move to the back of the house and try the door, then fled through an orange grove, fell into a swamp and lost the rifle. After looking back and seeing a creature, the witness reached the road and got help, and friends later found the back door torn off.

In 1980 two men claiming to be Smithsonian field agents visited the grandmother's farm for two days after magazine coverage. They toured the garden and orchard, noted twisted limbs, cast footprints and a supposed sitting impression, collected hair and produce, and recorded audio. At night the family showed them figures with a spotlight, with up to three seen, and the visitors played a scream recording that was followed by distant chatter.

The witness was camping with relatives south of Crater Lake and sleeping alone in a tent at night. While lying in a sleeping bag, the witness heard footsteps approach from the wooded side and saw a human-like outline shadowed in a distant campfire glow. The figure bumped the corner of the tent, shaking it, paused as if staring, then moved toward the front where it could no longer be heard on pavement.

The witness and a companion were walking through an overgrown orchard near the witness's home in late afternoon when they heard a loud stomping sound nearby. They then saw the partial rear view of a large upright hair-covered animal moving away into dense brush while making a guttural sound, and both fled to the house. Deep ground impressions, broken trees, and loud screams were also noted around the time of the encounter.

When headlights were turned on they saw a large dark hairy figure with a cone-shaped head and green eyes that moved its head and made grunting sounds. After difficulty starting the car, they heard a loud prolonged roar and saw the figure still there as they drove away.

On a summer evening in the late 1970s, the witness rode a bicycle onto an abandoned railroad-bed trail near woods. Behind dumped washers and dryers the witness saw a hair-covered figure that stood upright, grunted, and shook a sapling. The witness fled east, looked back to see the figure on the trail, then watched it walk back into the treeline.
Encounter with Juvenile Creature
In 1979 the witness had moved ahead of a hiking group in the Adirondacks to watch beavers and was walking back to the main trail. Something flushed from thick brush ran diagonally toward the witness on the trail, pounding loudly and wailing like a woman screaming, and was seen partially as a fast, upright furry figure about four and a half feet tall. The witness initially assumed a bear cub but later doubted that because it ran upright for about 150 feet and the vocalization resembled sounds associated with Bigfoot reports.

While camping with companions the group heard unintelligible chatter from across a lake, later had small rocks lobbed near them, and the witness saw the head and upper body of a dark hair-covered creature at close range.

During a nighttime military evasion exercise, the witness walked forward to look for his sergeant and heard heavy footsteps. A large dark hulking figure appeared briefly at the end of a clearing about 50 feet away and ran about 20 feet into the woods. The sergeant arrived from another angle and also reported seeing a dark form running away, and both later agreed it was not a deer, bear, human or other animal.

At dawn on a snowy morning a child resting on a living-room couch noticed a moving shape reflected in the television screen and then looked out the window. A large hairy face was peering inside from a few feet away and looked directly at the child. The witness reports seeing part of a tall hair-covered figure peeking from brush, finding deer carcasses cached high in trees, stacked bone piles and dugout shelters, hearing breathing and strange calls, smelling musk, feeling watched, and being chased at night by a bipedal creature that halted near the road.

Two siblings were playing in a wooded valley by a stream on a family farm in late afternoon when they felt uneasy and heard a loud stick break. As they tried to leave over a fence, the reporter came face-to-face with a huge black hairy figure crouched behind a tree and screamed. The sibling also saw the figure standing fully erect and heard it pursuing him as both fled out of the woods to the farmhouse.

The young witness sat against a large maple at dawn on opening morning while deer ran past. A huge hairy biped stood behind the tree with its hand on the trunk, growled with a low vibration, then chased after the deer at great speed. The witness soiled himself, vomited and left with his father, who also saw the creature and warned him never to tell.
Man recalls a late night encounter while parking in a remote area north of Splendora
Late on a spring night in 1979 or 1980, the witness had been parked in a truck on a pipeline with a companion for about 45 minutes. After hearing rustling ahead, the witness turned on the headlights and reported a very large hair-covered creature standing a few feet in front of the truck. The witness immediately reversed to leave, and when looking forward again the creature was gone.

The guest and his friend went behind a pond to flank others during a nighttime bottle-rocket war. They heard loud raspy heavy breathing and saw a tall hairy figure approach on two legs. The guest shone a flashlight on its torso and yellow eyeshine before it raised a large hand to block the light, and both boys fled screaming.
