A black entity about the witness's height ran very fast down the hill about 50 yards away and disappeared in about five seconds, with breaking deadfall heard as it left. The creature sniffed the air and grunted while a dog barked, then ran back into the woods. The companion's father arrived with a shotgun and found footprints larger than his boot where the creature had stood.

While running toward the house the witness saw a very large upright creature standing in shadows at the tree line that seemed to move after the witness slipped. The witness ran inside to report it to a relative and returned the next day to sit in the branch level with where the creature's head had been.

The witness was frightened and spent subsequent nights at a relative's house nearby.

As the sounds drew closer, one member of the party saw a dark brown flash of fur in the trees but could not identify it. The group then drove out of the area and did not return to hunt.

The witness and two companions were camped by a remote lake after dusk when they noticed amber eyes in the woods up the hill. After rocks were thrown, the animal stood and moved toward them on two legs, then circled their camp for about three hours while staying outside the firelight. The witness described it as 7 to 8 feet tall, agile on two legs, and curious rather than aggressive, and it left after fuel thrown on the fire made a flare. No tracks or other sign were found the next morning.

The witness and a companion were sleeping in their truck at a forest camp late at night when a large bipedal shape walked past and went to trash bags hung high in a tree. The shape reached up, carried one bag into the woods where tearing and eating sounds were heard, then returned about half an hour later to take a second bag. The pair remained in the truck, then packed up and left to spend the rest of the night elsewhere.

In summer 1984 the witness was watching television at home late in the evening with a window open when grunting sounds approached the house. The witness looked and saw a large dark upright figure pass by while neighborhood dogs became agitated and a foul skunk-like odor was present. The witness judged the figure too large to be a man and moving unlike a bear.
