A group of six campers sitting around a campfire at night heard strange low and high-pitched sounds approaching through the woods. They scanned with a powerful spotlight and saw a hairy upright figure partly hidden behind a tree about 20-30 yards away, with yellow eye glow. It stayed motionless for 30 to 60 seconds and was gone after the light was briefly turned away.

The husband saw a large black bipedal figure running through the bushes parallel to the road about 80 yards away. The group went a short distance farther, smelled the odor again, then turned back after the son refused to continue and the dog yelped and ran back to them.

The witness and a friend were maintaining a camp fire at night behind the friend's house near a wooded ravine. When the witness stepped toward the ravine to gather twigs, he saw a tall black form standing in tall weeds below and watched it move side to side before it looked up showing red eye reflection. After the friend also looked and fled to the house, the form ran across the creek toward a field and the witness ran inside.

Two occupants of a Jeep returning to base camp late at night noticed a large, dark, upright figure walking in the road ahead of their headlights. The figure, described as broad, massive and moving smoothly, stepped off into a ditch and into the woods as the vehicle approached. After stopping, one occupant heard sounds in the woods and both then saw a head-and-shoulders shape move quickly between trees before the area went quiet.

At night the guest saw a face in the living room window reflection with bared teeth and darting eyes that exhaled and fogged the glass. It left the porch with loud footsteps and slapped windows at the back of the house. The guest armed himself with a rifle, stayed in the hallway all night, and moved out the next morning.

He returned the next day to photograph suspected footprints and hair found on a limb.

After the pair backed away, it gave a low guttural growl ending with teeth clicking, frightening them enough to leave.

Thinking the partly obscured shape outside the fence might be a horse, the witness walked toward it and then saw a tall upright figure covered in reddish hair that grunted, looked at the witness, then pushed through small trees and brush leaving the area with loud heavy footsteps. The witness ran to the house and told relatives who were inside.

Around 2:30 a.m. on a clear night, the witness was walking home along a road paralleling a river when a strong bad odor and a loud splash drew attention to the water. About 60 feet away, a large, broad-shouldered, dark, long-haired figure stood upright in the river and appeared to be fishing, moving, splashing, and pausing to look around. The witness watched for several minutes while continuing down the road before leaving the area.

The witness was hunting hogs from a tree stand at sunrise when he watched a large hairy biped stalk hogs from tree to tree. The animal charged on all fours, killed a hog with blows, then carried it off while exchanging whooping calls with another unseen individual. It paused to stare at the witness before leaving. A hunting partner nearby heard the attack scream and whoops.

She looked out and saw a very large black figure that appeared well above the bottom of the window. She called her parent terrified and hid until she was picked up. The reporting parent found her hysterical and felt uneasy approaching the house.
