As a young child the guest went with his grandfather just before daylight to check fishing lines down a dirt path to a river bottom. The woods were unusually quiet and there was a dead-fish-like smell. The grandfather stopped the child, they heard trees and limbs breaking and heavy footsteps on the opposite hill, then turned around and left without seeing anything.

During deer season the witness heard grunts and a tree breaking and falling toward him while walking back to the cars after tracking a wounded deer.

The same truck-driver couple described ongoing activity at a cabin property they bought about three years ago on the outskirts of Mark Twain National Forest. After a few months all regular wildlife stopped visiting, and motion cameras began triggering nightly around 10-11 with nothing visible but low growls and a distant siren-like scream that set dogs barking. They also found footprints with toe ridges, fresh tree breaks, bent and intertwined trees, and a semi-circular stacked-log structure of large broken trees behind the property.

The witness and a friend went dove hunting at dawn at a pond in open pasture. After a shotgun shot a very loud scream came from the woods accompanied by crashing wood sounds that moved toward them. Two friends squirrel hunting in a fenced former fox-training woods noticed total wildlife silence, then a foul odor, then a loud roar accompanied by a large pine falling in the distance. The ground shook when the tree hit and they fled to the grandfather's farmhouse. The grandfather laughed and used a local term for a wild hairy creature.

The woods went silent before heavy footsteps that could be felt, grunting sounds, and two large trees falling without wind occurred. The pair left early without seeing the source.

The witness and his dog were hunting near a lake in the afternoon when the dog alerted on a huge thorn thicket. A loud scream-roar came from the brush, and the witness fired multiple shotgun loads into the shaking vegetation. A huge dark figure then ran off on all fours, breaking small trees while screaming in apparent pain, and the witness fled.

A few days later the witness was counting cattle in the morning when he noticed a huge upright figure between a barn and a tree across the field. The figure grunted, swiped and broke a large branch, then walked away. The witness later returned with others and estimated the branch height at about eight to nine feet.

The guest took his friend to a peninsula swimming hole at night, making noise for bears. They heard large branch breaks and heavy bipedal footfalls closing in and paralleling them out. Two deer emerged and walked with them to the car while the sounds continued alongside.

The witness, then a teenager, drove to a ranch at night to hunt raccoons with a dog. The dog acted fearful, livestock were huddled, and the woods were silent before a foul odor, heavy thumps, a branch break, growls and a scream occurred. The witness then saw large red eyes and a huge upright figure at close range, froze in terror and prayed, then fled to the truck without clear memory of the retreat, later finding the dog on the road and abandoning the rifle.

While walking between woven tree structures, the witness heard a woman-like scream behind him and saw a large hairy form moving parallel then darting into woods breaking trees. He tried to intercept it and a frightened deer stopped close in front of him. He then heard screaming from two positions at once with nothing visible, which he interpreted as interrupting a hunt.

The witness's father and two companions were cooking steaks at a deer camp after dark when something approached loudly, yelled and screamed aggressively, ripped branches and felled a pine tree near them. They abandoned gear except guns and drove away, returning days later with more people to find the camp destroyed, tent shredded, fire grate bent, rocks scattered, and large tracks throughout.

The witness was night hiking with three companions along a canal road when he heard a loud guttural growl and saw a large tree shaking violently across a grassy field. Two small dark bipedal creatures then ran from the tree line toward him, stopped and crouched halfway across the field while watching him. He watched them briefly, then rejoined his companions who had noticed nothing, and the group left the area.

On the morning hike the group heard a large tree fall, noticed quick dark low movement, and heard twig snaps behind them on the return.

Woken by crashing and the dog barking, the witness heard a juvenile on the porch beating the deck and plucking the air conditioner while an adult gave gibberish instructions and the juvenile answered with tongue clicks. Then something wailed on the dog box. In the morning he found a twisted tree, shredded sapling and tracks and made a cast. With a flashlight he saw something large and black moving up the hill.
Scream
The witness and a close friend were living in a tent camp deep in the woods while hiding as runaways. After hearing strange noises for some time, they returned to find the camp destroyed by fallen trees and witnessed shaking trees and a large hairy creature moving on all fours that charged past them kicking sand. They hid in a hollow until sunrise, then fled the area and never spoke of the event for years.

The guest and one fellow investigator camped in a research area in Lee County chosen after a Dogman report. They heard a growl, a distant tree fall, and something running around camp that was too fast to pinpoint on thermal, then found X-shaped tree structures without roots. On later visits team members saw a large dark humanoid with a conical head peek from behind a tree, found broken branches, and heard loud peacock-like bird sounds with nothing visible.
