A teenager and an older neighbor spent the night on a boat at a marina to catch suspected vandals. During the night the teenager saw a huge hair-covered figure crouched at an overturned trashcan scooping garbage, then stand upright and stare briefly. The figure stepped over the trashcan, sprang up an embankment, and disappeared into brush, leaving disturbed dew, strewn garbage, and broken brush.
Two brothers have early morning encounter
On a bright early morning in summer 1972, the witness and his brother were sleeping at home when the witness noticed a large shadow at the window that remained about five minutes. After the brother woke and made a noise, the figure turned, showing a flat-faced profile and hunched posture, then walked away and was seen from the back door as covered in dark hair. The figure paused when they struck the glass, then continued leaving. A day later they found tracks behind the house leading toward the houses.

Something circled the camp on two feet for about half an hour while wailing, as the group hid terrified in sleeping bags. The witness was walking alone through a small college forest on a trail to work on a dark winter evening. Something off the trail followed alongside her, keeping pace and making increasingly loud breaking and movement sounds, and she glimpsed a very tall blocky dark shape moving beside her while hearing breathing. She stayed on the trail with it alongside until the edge of the woods, then ran to a nearby building while it remained in the woods.

During night infantry training, the witness and three other Marines were dug in atop a hill when they heard rocks rolling as something climbed toward them. A very large, wide figure with long arms and a pointed head stood up within a few feet of them, remained briefly as they watched in fear, then walked between their positions and disappeared over a hill behind them. The group confirmed afterward that all four had seen the same thing but agreed not to report it at the time.

The witness was resting by the Des Plaines River during a bicycle ride when a hair-covered creature was seen across the river splashing in the water. After the witness coughed, the creature threw large rocks toward the witness, then crossed the river silently and confronted the witness at close range. A camp counselor leading about two dozen children on a backcountry hike reported encountering an erect, reddish-brown hairy creature at close range on a ridge in daylight. The creature watched the group for about a minute, then fled upslope on two legs. That night at a lakeside camp the group reported a strong skunk-like odor, distant landslides, a small dim green light, snapping branches, and large shadowy figures moving among trees for about two hours. Activity reportedly ceased after two counselors left to seek medical help for an ill child.

The witness was taking part in a nighttime military training exercise in a forested area in 1966 and was returning alone to the company area around 3-4 a.m. He noticed the outline of a large upright figure coming down a steep sandy hill toward a logging road while hearing footsteps and shifting dirt. When he challenged the figure, it responded with a loud growl, and he ran to the campfire without hearing pursuit. He initially told others the pursuer was a bear but later concluded it had walked on two legs and was a bigfoot.

The shape stood on two legs revealing a broad, hair-covered bipedal figure that stared at him briefly before walking then running away through palmettos with loud crashing footsteps. He returned to camp frightened and was told by the adult leader to go back to sleep.

As teenagers, the witness and her boyfriend parked in a dirt cul-de-sac in a wooded park to spend time together. They heard heavy footsteps, snapping twigs and rustling circling them in the dark but could see nothing. When they drove away, the witness looked back and saw a tall, broad, long-armed silhouette step into the light under a street lamp, prompting them to flee. She later heard that a woman's mutilated body was found in the park, after which the park was placed under a nighttime curfew.

In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

The witness was visiting a relative's remote cabin in Vermont late at night when the group heard a loud, child-like screaming approaching from a wooded ridge. The source was described as moving quickly along the ridge and disturbing dogs as it passed. It approached to within about 100 feet of the porch where the witness stood with a relative, then turned and left down the valley. The only visual was a dark shape with eyeshine about four feet off the ground, and the source was never identified.
